Cocoa Mill Chocolate Company — Local services in Lexington

This place used to be amazing, but in the past decade it's really gone downhill. It's obvious they make their chocolate differently, or are using cheaper/inferior ingredients. I got my daughter what were supposed to be like chewy licorice whips (like twizzlers;) they were rock hard. She couldn't eat them and I almost yanked a filling out trying to bite one. The "champagne" cordials were expensive; I was willing to spend the money because their chocolate used to be really good, but I ate ONE of the candies and marched back in for a refund. There was nothing even REMOTELY champagne-like, they tasted EXACTLY like stale m&ms filled with purple sweet tarts: artificial, medicinal and icky. I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because I have fond memories of how good they were 10-15 years ago. For now though if I desire stale, mediocre chocolate I'll go to Walmart for a fraction of the price and get a box of Whitman's or...

This place is fabulous. It's an awesome place to get chocolate gifts for people, or just to indulge for yourself! Their chocolate covered graham cracker is my favorite but they have all sorts of dipped items made with their homemade chocolate.
