This hotel should be rated a 2 star and not be classified as a 3 star hotel. The hotel is new and the beds are the absolute worst. You will wake up hurting due to the poor quality of the beds. ||Tru is a line of Hilton and this is obviously an attempt to budget down the hotel while attempting to appear cool and contemporary. The decor and style are definitely leaning towards modern, but the rip off is in the actual rooms. ||The rooms have been furnished with horrible beds that cause body aches and soreness. The rooms are tiny, equivalent to the size of a 1 or 2 star motel, with no seating area. You’ll get a kid size desk with chair, and a pad bolted to the top of a space where luggage would be placed. ||They don’t have a closet or armoire; there are peg hooks and a bar coming out of the wall for clothes hanging. The ironing board and iron are similar my hung on the wall. This again is supposed to look cool, but it’s really a way to shave expenses for Hilton since they don’t have to build out a closet. ||Also, the fridge is a cube and not a usually mini fridge and there are no microwaves in the room. The bathroom is equally small like everything else in this accommodation. ||The free breakfast is like all other hotels these days, which is to say worth skipping and no longer a selling point. ||There are 6 hotels all right next to each other at this location and I’m sure all others would have been a better deal. I feel ripped off for the price of this little box room with horrific beds. I definitely will not stay at a Tru by...

Clean, modern, dog-friendly spot for a quick overnight after visiting Natural Bridge.
The room was comfy, the pool was small but warm (my kids loved it), and there’s a handy row of Tesla chargers—great for Tesla owners. There are also plenty of nearby food and shopping options like Chick-fil-A, Dunkin’, Dollar Tree, Walmart, and more.
Housekeeping did a great job keeping things spotless, and breakfast was solid—mini pancakes, hard boiled eggs, omelette, fresh fruit, cereals, oatmeal, toast, coffee, tea, and juice.
Not so great:
The front-desk vibe was meh. I asked about canceling on a whim (no surprise they said no)—after our Natural Bridge visit, I realized I probably could’ve made the drive back home. I also asked about the $75 pet fee since I originally planned to bring my dog but ended up making other arrangements. I was told the charge would be removed at checkout, which it was—but it would’ve been nice to have seen that reflected right away at check-in. The same unfriendly energy was there again the next morning during checkout.
It felt like everyone was placed on the third floor. We heard snoring through the walls, footsteps above us but with the sound of the AC I was able to block it out and loud knocking next door that woke us up at around 7am.
Overall, a decent stay with good amenities, but the noise level and lack of friendliness/hospitality at the front desk kept it from being great.
Caught a rainbow on our pic- after the heavy rain — always good to find the positives, even when things don’t go...
Read moreFor the price point I was very happy. The staff are super nice and helpful. The interior is very happy and fun. Seemed more geared to a 30 something crowd. The rooms were just right as far as design and amenities. Tru has figured out what you need and nothing extra, which is all I really want, especially when it is so esthetically pleasing. With everything so out in the open, yet in an appealing way you can find everything and not leave your stuff behind. I was so glad to have a nice walk in shower. At first I was worried the bed might not be very comfortable, but I slept like a baby. I enjoyed their salt water pool. The gym looked good. The lobby was laid out nicely with private nooks. They have a nicely supplied concession stand. I don't eat Continental breakfasts, but their's looked fine. Tru has decent Lavazza coffee. I plan to go to their Indianapolis location for my birthday plans. This location was only 11 weeks old when I stayed and just a couple miles to downtown Lexington which is a wonderful, historical city with the Jackson House and Sweet...
