Food Lion has been my go to grocery store for the past 3 years because it's fairly easy to get in and get out even though it is a smaller grocery store with less options. I am someone that is also motivated by "discounts, special offers, incentives etc" and they often have a lot of the things I buy on sale. HOWEVER, I have become increasingly aware of the fact that I'm spending A LOT MORE on groceries since the coronavirus hit us late March. I chalked it up to demand thinking that prices were simply higher everywhere. I recently shopped at Walmart and realized they are not. I continued shopping at Food Lion because like I said before it's convenient. HOWEVER, during my trip today I realized why the amount I'm spending on my groceries has increased so much. They inflate the "original price" of items advertised on sale so that even at the sale price you are still paying full price. For example, they have 16 ct Kraft American cheese slices on sale for $3.29 with regular price $3.99 but since I wanted a larger pack I checked my options and discovered the 24 ct package, which was not on sale, was $3.99 regular price. Now you and I both know that it on the average day they do not sell the 16-count and the 24-count packages for the same price. I feel that is deceptive. I also noticed several other items with that same scenario. I'm not sure if I will continue shopping there or not on a regular basis, it depends on rather I continue to notice...
Read moreShop at this Food Lion all the time because it is right next to my house literally and normally I'm super pleased with the way things go unfortunately this morning I go in and after picking up all my groceries find out that their food lion card services are not working so in other words I don't get my shop yout way reward points on top of which apparently it is not taking off the amounts for things that are on sale so when I tried to address this with the woman who was at the customer service desk because the cashier informed me of such she told me she couldn't address anything she didn't know anything about In the meantime however I am left paying full price for items that are supposed to be on sale when I called the manager to report this problem he said that his staff was notified 1st thing this morning and that there was someone there trying to fix it.... apparently he had not conveyed it to all of his staff otherwise there would have been some type of measure in place to handle this..... i was not aware I should have kept track of every single price of every single item that I picked up to make sure that I knew how to tell them How to discount it maybe posting a sign to let customers know that they're gonna need to keep up with this until you get the problem fixed would be nice I am angry that I had to spend probably a good 12 to $13 more than I should have because no one knew how to address the problem supposedly...
Read moreLast Week, Monday after the 4th of July, I reached out to another local store for a quick last minute sandwich tray was told I could not get it til 5 pm. This was for a neighbor family who was caring for their ill family member, I needed it for lunch they had already been there the whole day of the 4th, and this was 10:30 am. I called Food Lion Red Bank and got Mrs Angela who said she needed a little less time for the full sandwich tray but of course still would not in time for lunch however in true Anglea fashion she thought on her feet. See I have ordered our family cakes etc from her for many years, while she would not have time to make the full sandwich tray she did offer to slice the meats cheeses etc that was wonder way to solve this and I was not even thinking about that she is a wonderful asset to this company and I am so glad she is there for me when I need her and this...
