Señor Jalapeños — Restaurant in Liberty Township

I have passed by Sr Jalapenos many times, but had never stopped to eat. Now I know I was wise to do so.

While their drinks are large and delicious, their food, sadly, is sub-par. Also, for a party of over 40, there was only one person taking orders and another delivering them. The interior of the restaurant was OK, but I never rate restaurants on their ambiance. My order was for 'La Bamba Steak Nachos', and while it smelled delicious, it sadly did not taste so. The steak was very tough and had no flavor, the nacho chips were all on the bottom of the platter and stuck to the bottom, the sauce had little to no flavor and very little spice was used. My husband ordered 'seafood fajitas'and he said they were okay, but he'd had better. A couple who sat across from us received one of their meals, were told the other was 'on its way', but it was forgotten for over 20 minutes until we were able to flag down the woman taking orders and request it. Once received, a lovely-fragranced platter of sizzling steak fajitas, the recipient put down her fork after just a few bites and proclaimed it 'okay'. Several others seated at our table proclaimed they too, had eaten better elsewhere.

Would give them more stars if possible. I cannot say enough good things about this place. The food is FANTASTIC!! I highly recommend the #40 on their menu. The chips and salsa are the best, hands down. I can fill up on just that! Their margaritas are some of the best, too. Or, they have beer to relax with. I would me remiss if I did not mention the staff who work their hardest to make sure we have the best experience possible- Oscar, Jose, Sylvia, and Paulina...and let's not forget the cooks in the back who truly know their stuff when it comes to Mexican food. Normally, Mexican restaurants are not known for chicken wings, but this place hast them and they are fantastic! You can get BBQ or buffalo. And did I mention the #40 entrée is good? They really make you feel welcome when you walk in, like family! Unfortunately, the downside is that I don't get to visit as often as I'd like- would eat here everyday if I could! I do enjoy a good Mexican restaurant & Sr. Jalapeños in Liberty, Ohio never disappoints. When you arrive you can park in front or on the side of the building, plenty of spots available. Inside you will find a spacious dining area & bar. Seating options are tables, booths or bar. The waiting staff & servers are great, very friendly & attentive. They always check on you as you dine, make sure your drinks are topped off & ensuring you have everything you need. The owner is usually there and will stop & check on you as well. The Menu has a great selection of entrees, vegan options & and kids meals. Their food is delicious, dress & served hot. Even the chips and salsa are amazing, nice thick & crunchy. The bar is properly stocked with a good selection of liquor & beers. Numerous televisions are all around the place, so an ideal place to enjoy sports as you dine.
