I want there today because I had an appointment at St. Rita's Allergy and Asthma Center, and I had never met a more rude and unprofessional staff in my life! First, the nurse at the place gave me directions to the wrong location. While at the wrong location (Lima Regional) the nurse their called to see why they gave me the wrong address. Of course, they didn't know, and sent me the correct address. The nurse at Lima told them that because I was lost (I literally never go to Lima) that they would hold my appointment, and I was told yes, but get there as soon as possible. When I arrived at the correct facility I went to guest services by the main entrance because I realize the nurse never gave me a building, or office, number. So, I want to guest service and I showed them my paper and ask where it was located. Surprise, surprise, nobody knows. After twenty mins of calling various depts. trying to find the Allergy and Asthma Center they actually called the front desk, looking for me. So, as you can see they already know I'm lost and struggling to find them. The worker Rick looks me straight in the eye and says, "Yeah, she standing right here, we just can't find where you are in the system". So, now the nurse decides to tell me her building and office number, which is conveniently located on the other side of the building. So, I had to walk, and I arrive 30 mins late for my appointment. When I get there I overheard the actual doctor running the place complaining about how much she hates her job, and how she finds patients annoying. When I checked in I learned they had canceled it while I was down at Guest Service. Bare in mind they knew I was down there and lost, because they called looking for me. Apparently, after she gave them the office number she canceled siting I arrived late. Then, she wanted to tell me that next time I should show up an hour ahead of time to avoid these issues and not inconvenience the doctor (who is still complaining about how much she hates patients). You know what's inconveniencing, PURPOSELY GIVING ME THE WRONG DIRECTIONS, SO YOU HAD A EXCUSE TO CANCEL MY APPOINTMENT!!! I had to get a ride that day, so two people had to rearrange their schedule to make room for this appointment, just to have your incompetent staff drop the ball. I for one never want to come back here for any reason EVER! Because, if you have one doctor talking about how much they hate their job they all do, and her staff purposely giving out the wrong directions to avoid giving patients care, that tells me the quality of care here is going to be...
Read moreWon't be going there again. Mental health issues they do absolutely nothing for. Tell them you cannot take a certain medication and what do you know, a nurse is drawing up that same medication into a syringe to inject you with it, good thing I asked what it was because even though I told them I couldn't take it due to side effects they were going to sneak it into my body anyways. And to top that off, they give me a prescription for the stuff as well even though you told them you cannot take it. Terrible. Will be going to Memorial from now on, Don't ask me questions and then I answer them and then just not listen, thats how it works at St Rita's.
Edit: I made the terrible decision to go back to this place the other day after having some issues after my surgery; I went in on a Sunday; the nursing staff was great but Dr. Danielle Doyle was probably the most rude doctor I’ve ever met in my life. This doctor asked me exactly why I was in the hospital and also asked me why I didn’t contact my surgeon on a Sunday instead of going to the hospital. Well Dr Doyle, I don’t have my surgeon on speed dial especially when his practice isn’t open on a Sunday, and you could tell the area where I had pilonidal cyst surgery was infected, and the doctors office even took cultures and sent it to your guys lab and it came back positive for an infection in which was causing me to have fevers and increased pain, and I’m not sure if you are informed but on the papers you get after every doctor appointment, on the last page it says if you are experiencing fevers or increased pain, then you need to goto the hospital which is exactly what I did and I regret it; You didn’t have to belittle me or treat me like I’m there to just get pain meds. I didn’t ask anyone to get me anything for pain. I went there to figure out what my cultures came back positive for and why I was having issues. You guys rushed to get me out of there with out explaining anything. I guess a quick easy free few hundred dollars for you guys huh? I got 0 answers. I’m better off going to the veterinarian than this place. Dr Danielle Doyle; if you don’t like your job then do the area a favor and quit or find something else like a factory job or something, because the emergency department isn’t for you based off of how you talked to...
Read moreMy experience at St. Rita's Medical Center was awful. Horrible healthcare in terms of nurses, no one checked up on me for hours while I'm lying in a bed unable to move and they wouldn't answered when I called for about a half an hour and then wouldn't make it to my room for another hour. It felt very impersonal. My doctor was a male and I'm a female and it is against company policy for a male doctor to check on a female patient without a female nurse or staff member present and the doctor came in alone and ended up hitting on me in the process. Also I told the faculty that I could not have a pain medication called Delodid because it makes me violently sick and they said that that was what the doctor had prescribed and that there was nothing they could do about it, so I then asked for Zofran to counteract this medication to make me not nauseas and they went to get doctors conformation. I had not heard from them for 4 hours and during those hours I spent my time naked leaned over a trash can violently getting sick while I called them over and over on the nurses button on the radio and no one came into help for those 4 hours. I was given to small throw up bags and after using those I had to go against the doctors recommendation and get up out of bed hurting my burns and sit on my knees over a trashcan to get sick. The food was horrible and the staff was mean. I was diagnosed by my doctor with 2nd degree burns and was sent out of the hospital. I then went for a check up with my doctor who wanted to see the burns at Lima Memorial and she looked at them and said they were most definitely 3rd degree burns and that I needed to see a surgeon immediately. So that day I went to the surgeons office and he agreed and set me up for emergent skin grafting surgery the next day. I had to miss 4 days of school not to mention the fact I was bed ridden for 5 days with a wound vacuum attachment and an arm sling, and had missed 2 days before for the actually happening itself. I will never be returning to this hospital again, and if you care about your health and making sure you get the best care possible I would advise that you...
