Kewpee Hamburgers — Restaurant in Lima

Gave 5 stars a year or so ago, but have to change it for what it is.

Stopped here and got three sandwiches, two fries, a drink, and two malts. Now I know it takes a while at Kewpee, but I hadn't even ordered and waited 45 minutes.

Got to the order box, gave my order, rhe person waited forever to reply, and repeated the order back. Must have been what he wanted to order because it was nowhere near what I had ordered, not even the drink was right.

Another 20 minutes go by and I finally got to the pick up window, only to br met with someone who stared at me for an uncomfortable amount of time, take my card, stare at it like he just discovered fire, and ran the card. 10 more minutes went by and I have my food.

Get home, which is on my a six minute drive, and the burgers were cold, fries were cold and soggy. Plus, meat is thin as it gets, I could eat newspaper and get better texture and flavor.

I use to come here all of the time with my dad when I was younger, heck, he was there so often I'm surprised they didn't name a table after him, and I continued going to Kewpee for many years after, and i never thoughtthis place would end up like this. But now, I just don't think I can do that. Waiting in line that long is insane, ans I know it's not fully the employees fault, people in Lima are strange about their Kewpee. But employees could step up and actually work while getting paid for it. I understand what the owners are dealing with, you got people that don't want to work, or only want a check. But in the end, thr customer suffers, especially when you have stoner younger people working that just don't care.

Great prices. So my friends and I were traveling from the Orthodox Monastery in Michigan back to Southern Ohio. On our way I looked at places we could eat dinner off of 75. This place, highest rating and lowest prices out of everything around. So I thought, that's the winner! We have to go some twists and turns but we make it. The drive through was busy. We go in, and order. They made our friends food quickly but we had to wait a while for ours. They apologized for the inconvenience and let us choose something we wanted from the menu, which we got a slice of cherry pie. This pie filling wasn't made from a can, I don't think. It had the red syrup we know and love but the cherries tasted special and fresh, and were more of a bright yellow/orange, so I think they were a special variety. They even gave us extra chili because ours got cold while they were making the rest of the meal. Their malts are HUGE! You don't understand..,their small is what I'd call a medium, and their medium is what I would call an XLARGE, A SUPER! And so unbelievably cheap...my boyfriend and I both ate there, two sandwiches, fries, chili (we got a malt for free because they made a mistake and so they gave it out for free) and it filled us up! First of all, the service was absolutely terrible. I suggest to the staff there to get out of food service if you act like me asking you what I can put on a burger is a waste of your time. On top of that, my friends who had ordered in front of me had already finished eating and cleaned the table by the time they even called for my food. I would understand this if they were not fully staffed and I hadn't just purchased one double hamburger with just cheese. I waited 20 minutes for food, and was about to go up and ask (after seeing two groups of people who had ordered more food than I, myself, did receive their food) and they finally called me to the register acting like nothing was wrong. The staff in this place would probably be better suited for a prison cafeteria than actual food service. This is coming from someone who works at a sandwich shop. For prices more expensive than Steak n' Shake, food that's almost as good, terrible service, and a large population of Kewpie dolls, I'd just say...
