Costco.....I really wanted to give you another try...but now...NO WAY..we bought new tires December 2019 right before canceling our membership in January 2020 becuase we had issues with several food items with issues and an employee that was very rude...I went to Costco Tuesday October 5th...I showed up early as I was told to do at 9am because I'm disabled and they keep earlier times for disabled and elderly. I sat and waited until about 915am and still doors didn't open so I called Costco they finally opened up and I explained my situation and advised them I had back surgery not very long ago and could hardly walk. The man said not to worry it will be quick and will have you on the way.....it was not quick nor easy at all. It took almost 2 hours for them to tell me My tire ended up having a piece of shrapnel in the side wall and couldn't be repaired so I was told they could not sell me tires and warranty wasn't active because I was no longer a member..long long story I had to re buy a membership so I could buy a new tire in the meantime I was treated rudly by not 1...not 2 BUT 3 different employees. I left very upset with a donut on my vehicle and was told come back the next day which ended up being Thursday because they didn't have time availability Wednesday..so I made an appointment showed up at 11:58am Thursday and was told again don't worry it won't take long at all....I waited 25 minutes and the only reason someone helped me is I asked an employee taking a car in that just pulled up I needed help and had an appointment. They finally got my vehicle back and they did such a terrible job they left the spare tired metal shield on our back seat which got it dirty...THEN look at the picture...I WAS PULLED OVER TODAY by lpd asking why I had a spare tired hanging underneath my vehicle...so now I will have to go back to Costco and have them fix this.. needless to say I am very mad this took way longer than it should have and the employees didn't even install the spare back correctly.....this is DANGEROUS!!!! .these issues along with the time and money waited prior I am out time and money almost 100.00 but hey Costco if you want to lose a customer CYA! I WISH COSTCO CARED...
Read moreI headed to Costco because I had been thinking about joining for several years. Saturday December 17, I thought, was the day I would finally become a member. For some reason, I thought membership cost $100. The Goldstar membership is only $60. It's the executive membership that's $120.
One of the things I looked for when I entered the store was the price of fuel. I couldn't find a sign with the prices. However, an employee at the membership counter told me that their fuel price is only $2.41 per gallon. At Hy-Vee, it's $3.09! Wow! I found out you don't have to be a member to look around the store or to go to the food court. That's nice! I took the opportunity to look around.
I found several things I put on my mental list of things I might buy in the future. I also enjoyed their food sample stations. They have several of them spread around the store. I saw a wide range of products from TVs, Bose headphones, chairs, a grocery store section, and plenty of snacks. Oh, I could get into trouble with all the snacks they sell here. I was disappointed when I found out their optical center doesn't work with the company I have for vision insurance which is Eye Med. It is worth mentioning that the reason I wanted a Costco membership instead of a Sam's membership is Costco has a reputation for paying and treating their employee much better.
After taking a good look around, I walked back to the membership counter to buy a membership. The woman who helped me gave me a lot of helpful information, and I could tell she really wanted me to sign up for the Executive membership. She also encouraged me to sign up for a Costco Visa credit card. I said I was interested in the Goldstar membership. As she was taking my information, I asked if Costco takes Apple Pay. She said, "Only if it's linked to a Visa credit or debit card." And that's why I am giving Costco 4 stars instead of 5. I have never heard of a store that won't take Mastercard. That's all I have, and I refuse to carry cash. I ended up walking out of the store with nothing because of that policy. Maybe one day I will have a Visa card. Until then, I can't shop at...
Read moreHad a puncture on one of my tires and it was about 2” from the wall. I asked one of the tires guys if it can be repaired and after looking at it he said it is fixable. Went inside did the paperwork, handed in my key. Two hours later I got a call telling me the tire can’t be fixed because the hole is too close to the wall. A couple months goes by and I happened to have a stapler embedded itself to the middle thread of a tire. Brought the car in to have all the tires replaced. Unfortunately the tires is not on hand and for some reason cannot be ordered at the time. I pleaded for the tire to be patched up so I can drive home safely and bring it back tomorrow to see if the manager can investigate why the tires couldn’t be ordered. The tire manager on hand (not Brandon) informed me by policy it cannot be patched because (this time) the thread is too thin. He stated in a condescending manner that I shouldn’t have let the thread gets to current condition and implied it’s my fault that they can’t repair the tire. The first time Costco refused to fix my flat, I took it to another tire place in town and it was fixed right away-no speech about how thin my thread is or how close it is to the wall of the tire. This time I had called Costco numerous times to order the tires and no one answered the phone. Called administration and was told someone from the tire department will call me back. Four hours later and no ones did. Took my car to another tire place in town, paid for the same tires that I was trying to get information on with Costco but received no answer and had them installed ! Problem solved! No more dealing with Costco’s BS! Will have all five of my family members taking their car to this other...
