Complete waste of time and money. I am currently a college student with limited income. When I bought my laptop I bought it specifically for my major because there are certain display and graphic driver requirements for some of the software that I regularly use. I cracked my laptop screen earlier this year and took it schrock innovations for a screen replacement. Should have been a pretty straightforward fix. Long story short, schrock innovations did not make it a straightforward process. After the initial install of a new screen that they had ordered for the laptop they said it would only run in safe mode and that a software issue was preventing the new screen from displaying properly. To fix said software issue they wanted an additional $140 on top of the sum I had already paid for the screen. I picked it up and tried troubleshooting on my own to avoid paying more but again, I am a full time student I had no extra time to spend trying to fix my laptop. While troubleshooting though I did notice that weirdly enough the laptop displayed perfectly fine on any other screen it was connected to so obviously the issue was not with my laptop nor with my drivers it was with the screen that they had ordered and installed. I took it back to them because at this point I was desperate and just wanted a working laptop. About a week later I got a call that the software issue was fixed. Their so-called fix was replacing my graphic drivers with older ones that were compatible with the screen that they had installed. I immediately noticed that my rendering software was not working correctly and that I was unable to change the brightness of the screen. I took it back again, and asked them to fix the issues they said they would under warranty. They had it for another two weeks. I called to check in on the repair as they never bothered updating me on how the repair was going they said I could pick it up that day. I picked it up and neither of the two issues which I had taken it in for were fixed. At this point I’m at my wits end, I’m so over this it has been over two months at this point and I’m so so frustrated with this place. Here I am $570 later. I can't use my laptop for school because my rendering software is not displaying correctly and being unable to change the laptop's brightness strains my eyes. I should have never trusted schrock innovations with the repair, I should have gone somewhere else or just bought a new laptop. Moral of the story, never coming here again and warning others with issues to take their...
Read moreI was very disappointed in the customer service and quality of service that I got. I doubt I will recommend or return to have my computer repaired here. I have worked in customer service industry for more years than Alex the store manager has been alive. When I first called to see about getting my computer repaired, I felt like I was being rushed off the phone and that he didn't have time to explain the process to me. He said he couldn't explain every step of the process. I wasn't expecting that but a general synopsis. Coffee had spilled on my 7 year old laptop by accident and I have family history information stored on it that I wanted to try and save. I was told that it would be 24-48 hours before they would know exactly what was going on with it. I called the next day very anxious to know what they had found so far. Instead, I found Alex to be very rude and refused to tell me anything about my computer. He was like "Well they should of told you in the beginning that it would be 24-48 hours before we could tell you anything." Any other repair shop would of gladly told you what was going on with it so far. I waited to call again close to the 48 hour mark before leaving out of town in hopes that it would be ready to take with me. Unfortunately, it wasn't. Again, I got a rude and snarky attitude. He acted that he couldn't say anything about it until I pried it out of him. I attempted to leave messages with his Supervisor Mr. Parker, but he didn't return my messages either. No one should have to experience this. I got a call later after I had left town on the repairs. They were able to save my data on my hard drive but would need to replace some other parts. Now I noticed on your website, that repairs shouldn't cost the customer more than what the computer is worth. I ended paying about $461 for this repair of a 7 year old computer. I probably should have been given the option of just having my data saved and purchasing a new computer. This wasn't even mentioned. I found out today that my battery is not functioning properly, which they must have missed on their diagnostic scans that they do. They just gave me a new part to my power cord. I have to find a new battery if I would like to use my laptop without using...
Read moreI took my laptop in to get the screen replaced, after evaluating it the day it was taken in by my wife they said the screen was a common one and it should take a couple days to get it, and it could be installed as soon as it got in. This was Friday, March 29. I did not hear from them by Thursday of the next week, since I live close by I stopped by to see if it was done, they said they didn't have the part yet, fair enough, figured they would get it in a couple days. Called again Tuesday, this would be the 9th, they said they didn't have the part yet, no explanation, I said when I brought it in they said a couple days, and understood that sometimes things get backordered or delayed, but it would be nice if someone would call to let you know when things got delayed.
I left town for the rest of the week, got back Sunday, called Monday April 15th, they said the didn't have the part yet, I didn't get an explanation of why other than something about ordering the parts through their Papillion store. I said it would be nice to know why the delay without having to call and ask everytime, and also would be nice to hear from them if there were problems, and could I talk to a manager. The lady on the phone said the owner would be in later and he would call me.
No on called me back that day, but the next day, April 16th they called to say it was done.
Until those last two days I got the distinct impression that no one at Schrock Innovations knew or cared why my part was delayed, and the only time anyone was checking into anything was when I called. Couple this with the fact that they had my computer AND asked for the full payment for repair and labor up front (wich I normally won't do, but the computer was already in the shop, and I was at work and didn't really have time to argue with them on the phone) this did not leave a good impression of the customer service.
When I picked up the computer the only explantion I got was that they were ordering everything through the Papillion store and it wasn't going very well. I am not overly impressed with the level of...
