Slim Chickens — Restaurant in Lincoln

Finding Raising Canes to be rather bland, and lacking in the sauce choices, some family and I decided to give this place a try, coming from Omaha as something to do. Have been to this location twice. The first time was a better experience than the second. The only problem with our first visit was that they mixed up two of our drinks, but the food was hot and thr service was decent. The second visit was not as well received as the first.

Both times we ordered online and picked it up. The second time we decided to eat in the patio after we had already paid for pickup. So we got our food, which took longer than expected to make, which was ok, I know it can be tedious at times, no biggie. But the food was somehow lukewarm st best. Each cup of pop was filled probably 2" below the top. We had dropped one of our sauces, so I had gone back into pay for a new one, there was a line so o was waiting patiently, till the lady at counter decided to lick each of her fingers to count cash, then decided not wash her hands. Covid or not, that is unacceptable and down right unsanitary.

Other than the food being kind of cold, and the unsanitary practices of the counter workers, we like the food. One other thing we found annoying was the volume of the music on the patio, it was quite loud. We had asked if they could turn it down as one of the members in my party has some auditory problems, they said ok, but it didn't seem like they did anything, could have just killed it for an hour or something.

Overall, I may give this location another chance, but if I am in Lincoln again, I will probably try the other location. If the food is hot and fresh, it's better than Canes,...

Usually great service when the managers here. Food was still great. But tonight 8:34 PM 6-5-19 this kid walked up to the register and said “ what’s up?” I guess that was our signal to order. I know this because he just stared at us until we ordered. Later while receiving one of the orders he brought it out. Order in hand and blue colored cleaning supply in other hand. I’ve worked in the food industry before and that is not acceptable at all. When I politely reminded him that we had two orders he snatched the number from the table and in the rudest voice ever said it’s not done yet. When said order was finally done he slams it down and walks away. The younger me wouldn’t have taken any of this disrespect. But Im older now and would like to do this the (what I hope is the right way) food was ok . But kiddo has to know this isn’t something that can ever happen again. If he doesn’t want to work then he needs to find another thing to do because this is ridiculous. I don’t write reviews. And most likely will never write a review ever again...

Normally I would give Slims a glowing review. I've been there numerous times and it was one of my places to stop for tenders. But I will no longer be going to Slims.

Went about 7:23pm last night to get a couple orders of tenders. I subbed out my fries for Mac and cheese, and asked for grilled tenders instead of fried on my 3 tender meal with BBQ sauce. I came home, wasn't incredibly hungry so I only had about a strip worth of meat (which they just fried anyways and didn't grill. This place misses items alot especially sauce numbers) and a few spoonfuls of the Mac and cheese. Sitting there for about a couple hours after I first ate I got nauseous. I've been up all night now vomiting and diarrhea as i write this 12 hours later and I still dont feel good. I don't know if maybe sauce was bad or the strips, but this is inexcusable. It's a good thing I'm not an elderly person or this could be much worse. Please do a thorough walkthrough of your kitchen and products to ensure this doesn't happen to...
