Don’t bother showing up on a Tuesday night just before 10:30pm and expect anything from the kitchen, it closes at 10pm. I walked 3/4’s of a mile and was hungry + thirsty and no offer to make me anything to eat or a drink. Not much of a sports bar if you ask me nor did I see anything on the internet about kitchen closing before bar.? I was willing and ready to tip well. Guess my business is their loss. Customer service and attitude was poor, so I moved on. *Update after owner response: I did see later that on menu only posting that kitchen hrs were listed (10pm closed). My apologies for generalizing kitchen hrs were not. 10pm is officially kitchen closed, got it. Only Sherlock Holmes could’ve found that out. You were wrong though that I was offered something from bar, contrary, the bartender was short in her response and uninviting in her tone. As to why you hid behind your staff and didn’t speak up to identify yourself is the very reason why so many bars and restaurants fail. I do also have my own business transporting many of the products you use and sell in your business. Also, my wife spent 16+ years in the restaurant business managing many facilities like yours. You also forget you're in the hospitality business which I received very little and to say I did is the very reason your business is bound to fail. You’re lying to me and to your woke self. In my business I have to go above and beyond (reason for my late arrival to your bar) because I truly own it and its assets. You on the other hand are probably owned by the bank explaining the lack luster effort you made to show me any hospitality simply to offer a solution to get a bite to eat. At this time, I don’t plan to ever be back and hopefully you won’t be out of business. I hope for...
Read moreFood was decent. Problem I had was asking for ESPN plus to watch the Big 12 tournament. When they said they got channel changed for me I could clearly see it was ESPN2. They still insisted it was the right channel until I said maybe you should listen to your customers. When they realized I was right they just said oh we don’t have it then. I also asked about March Madness next week and they had no clue. This isn’t a sports bar in my opinion. A sports bar knows March Madness. Almost done with food before waitress came back.
Thanks to the owner for responding. Your bar came highly recommended by a friend of mine so i had high hopes. I will definitely try it again as the food was very good.
I wanted to change my review after giving The Hawks Nest another try or actually 3 more tries. They have a waitress named Anna that usually works on Sunday. She is absolutely amazing and goes above and beyond every time we are in there. She has such an amazing attitude and even went above and beyond when my dad had low blood sugar from his diabetes. She ran and got him chocolate and a bowl of ice cream. My sister and i appreciated that so much. And as always the food as been amazing every time. We are obsessed with the beef birria quesadilla. And we appreciate that they have Carbliss with no sugar so my dad can have a drink. We will definitely be...
Read moreEDIT(UPDATE): I came back a couple weeks later on a (busy) weeknight. Every complaint I had previously had been rectified. I'm going to chalk last trip up to a fluke off-day and call it good. My wings were outstanding, absolutely on point. I absolutely love wings and this order put them in my #2 for Lincoln. Blue cheese and ranch were both thick and well made again as a contrast to last time. Onion rings were good, not overdone like last time but really dang good.
I'll be coming back again, my review has been edited to reflect 5 stars. Note that I did not call the manager or let them know I was coming. I paid in cash, didn't call any attention on to my self. I'm glad to see a local business take bad reviews seriously and rectify it.
BELOW IS MY PREVIOUS REVIEW
Philly was good, onion rings were just “OK. Ranch was like milk with a hint of ranch seasoning. Finally the price after tip was on the high end, it’s what I’d expect to pay for a much better food and place not (albeit good) bar food. If you’re going to charge a premium price it should stand up...
