Tonight my daughter had me go to this candy store last minute for their key lime truffles. When I drove up to the store ,I was immediately taken back to another place and time. When I walked in ,I was greeted with such a warm and cheerful woman. She was so welcoming as I was like a literal kid in an old timey candy shop! I couldn’t believe my eyes! She was showing me everything and giving me samples and my mind was just blown! ! It was such a nostalgic atmosphere and I wanted to stay in there for a long time! I wish I had known about this place a long time ago! I will be going there for my daughter’s Valentine assortment and I will always be a customer! They have been there since the 1940’s!!!! It really shows ! Every employee there was so kind and helpful! I even met the owner and he was just as kind and helpful as the rest of them. If YOU are thinking of going there, just go! YOU will be amazed! I wish I had known about this place when I had young children ,but I was there for my teenager and ended up buying things for my husband and myself. My daughter got the key lime truffles. I bought my hubby homemade peanut butter cups and a peanut bar thing. Then I bought myself some divinity and the best jalapeño brittle I have ever had!! And it was a sample from the sweet woman who showed me around and heard I loved spice and jalapeños! I had to buy a bag! They have these homemade pickles from a gentleman that makes them and I am going back for them soon . I cannot say enough about this place! I would give it 100 stars if I could! It’s nice to see a blast from the past and a world I wish we still had. Customer service is off the charts and it’s all done the old school way! It was whimsical and it was so nostalgic ,as well as magical. I will be a repeat customer...
Read moreIt's a fun little place to stop at don't get me wrong. I will say a lot of their prices are extremely high. As in 2.00 per little chocolate ball. I personally bought a caramel turtle, a pinch as they called it of some sour gummies, pinch of sour ribbons, one chocolate covered pretzel what was supposed to be white chocolate peppermint bark in a small baggie. Which honestly tasted more like the vanilla waffers you melt from hobby lobby. That little bit came out to just under 20.00. the candy making show they offer is a fun thing if you haven't ever seen it before. They still do it the old traditional way with tools almost a century old. That being said after seeing the show I was apprehensive about eating the candies. With what they are charging there is no reason not to put some fresh powder coat on the tools. The tables should definitely not look like they were dug out of a dumpster being kinda dirty and missing pain in places. I can definitely tell you the vinyl tubes they bought from the hardware store to put on their stretching machine are not good grade materials. They should also probably maybe clean that machine up a bit as well. The one that really killed it for me was when the guy making the candy wiped his sweaty forehead off with his arm to the back of his hand. Then proceeded to continue to make the candy pretty much killed it for me. I get that it has to be hot in there to make the candy but they definitely need a headband or some better food handling skills training if not both. I'm not wanting to eat candy mixed with a dudes sweaty forehead sweat mixed in. I will say the staff is extremely friendly! Overall not a bad experience but not one I'd...
Read moreTop Notch Service! This store smells wonderful and really does take you back to your childhood memories. I was greeted at the door promptly at 5:30PM. Her energy was heartfelt and when I said I had questions, she replied with GREAT, we LOVE questions, how can I assist you?. She took out stunning chocolate turkeys and a breath-taking Cornacopia and placed them in a bright lighted area so I could see the details before I choose one. Needless to say, I took both! This will make a sparkling welcome on my new family. 100% Ediable and I'm positive the children will love the hammer to open it. It's unique and different and better than the usual flowers, breads or pies to bring as your contribution to the table.
Even took time with me to explain the sugar free options. Diabetics shouldn't be left out, and all samples of them were wonderful. I couldn't tell the difference at all!
Just refreshing and not rushed to shop. There is so much to view! I highly recommend this talented crew and store. I really cannot express how much I enjoyed my...
