Hands down the best place to go! Iāve visited some kinda off-putting shops over the years with friends and the experiences I or they had made me hesitant to get a tattoo.
I followed Under The Magnolia for a while on instagram and got a sense of the style of each artist and I noted that my favorites were from Cora.
Iām a quilter so her mandalas stood out to me and the way she styles her flowers is just beautiful. I messaged her with some ideas of creating quilt inspired mandalas and she was game!
Iāve now had two sessions with her, my first two tattoos, and sheās been phenomenal! From turning my crazy ideas (idea overload haha!) into beautiful works of art, all the way to making sure I was comfortable and knew what to expect during my first session. She did the outline and gave me the option to stop if I wanted to at that point - I ended up going to completion, about 5 hours on the first. Now a month later weāve completed the second part of my sleeve.
The whole place is warm and inviting with a family vibe. Thereās no intimidation. Thereās no judging your design picks. Everyone who worked the day of my first session kept checking in on me to make sure I was doing okay throughout the day. Itās just been the best possible experience!
Each artist has their own style so you can definitely find someone who will bring your ideas to life and match your energy. Iām so happy to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve wanted a tattoo for many years now. The combination of not knowing what I wanted, plus the fact that I hate needles kept me from getting one. Iām 53 year old. In 2010, Psalms 52:8, from the Bible became my life verse. It speaks of an olive tree always flourishing. So, I decided that an olive branch would be the tattoo that I would get one day to remind me that Iām always flourishing with God. Now to overcome my fear of getting the actual tattooā¦
I have been a resident of Lindale for close to 20 years and I had been hearing great things about Under the Magnolia. So, I drove over there and talked to Jaden. He reassured me all would go well in the process and that he would draw up the artwork. So I set an appointment. gulp
Leading up to the actual day of getting the tattoo, Jaden was in contact with me regarding the artwork. He listened to my ideas and then drew it up. It was perfect!
On the day of my appointment, he was very professional and treated me with the upmost respect. His ābedside mannersā were top-notch. Though my tattoo is simple, compared to some of the elaborate designs that he does, I never got the sense that he took this one any less serious than the others. Heās a great human and artist.
If youāre thinking about getting a tattoo, I highly recommend Under...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was supposed to work with Jaden on a futurama sleeve. I had hoped to have a cohesive piece done. I offered to sketch up the piece myself so that I could ensure it was designed the way I liked and was told I wasnāt allowed to. On the day of my appointment I text to let him know I was on the way and was advised that he had forgotten about my appointment. When I arrived he had not prepared for my piece and had just ripped a picture off the internet to offer as a tattoo. We were able to tweak what he found and come to an agreement however when I asked about it being a sleeve piece and having more of a design he basically just stated āwell normally I just tattoo random stuff on someone until it turns into a sleeve.ā I scheduled a second appointment to continue working with him this time bringing my own art work for reference and this appointment went well. I was scheduled for a 3rd appointment and was cancelled on 24 hours before the appointment and he never rescheduled. Would not recommend...
