Update 11-7-24. Wasn’t going to update but gotten a tad annoyed. After oil change and tire rotation not only got request for review but an advertisement that the tpm sensors needed replacing. Which is partly their fault. About a year and a half ago we bought new tires here. In appreciation for the exhaust service job. Seven year old vehicle, 75,000 miles. Needs tires. My friend Dave, he’s been a mechanic at a major dealership in Grand Blanc some 40 years. Dave tells me I might want to get the tpms changed. That’s the tech sensor that monitors air pressure in the tires. The tires have to be off the rim to replace. Tires have to be balanced. All costly procedures that are also done during tire replacement. Turns out, there is a GM memo about it. When I mentioned it, these folks discourage it. Naaah. You don’t need it. Two months later, one sensor fails. Four months later, the other three fail. That cost them a break job the car needed. Generally reviews I do with my wallet. See, to replace them now, jack the car up, remove 4 wheels, remove all four sets of rubber from the rim, unnecessarily risking rim leak, remove and install new sensors (the only step had they been done before) then install rubber on rims, balance four, mount four, shop tool charge, fluid charge, yadi yadi charge and tax. By the way, the big yellow light with the little tire let’s one know the tpms has failed-or the tire is flat. So I really didn’t appreciate the add for this to be done. I am not confident in having it done here. However, we do appreciate that unlike a place on Owen road that told me I need new struts 5 years ago (they are still fine) unnecessary maintenance or repairs are not pushed here. On the other hand, if the customer says “I heard GM recommends replacing (something) when doing this-probably should do it or at least check on it -you know-for the customer. And by the way-the last two oil changes and tire rotation-the sensors were not functioning. That was 6 months and a year ago. I certainly think this shop can handle basic repairs quite well. And the quality of that work seems well done. More difficult repairs requiring solid diagnostics and knowledge/experience, maybe not so much.
A few months back we had Linden's complete auto repair replace the resonator and change oil in a Chevy Equinox. It went so well we came back for tires, another oil service and alignment. Mechanics provided over and above service that us greatly appreciated. The service manager was cordial and honest. Everything went just as Mark stated. Both visits were over and above. Good service, qualty workmanship and very competitive prices without...
Read moreI have always relied on Linden Complete for anything from advice to the work that they did. I always had that home town business feeling and that they always took care of it's home town residents and supporters. I have referred so many people here because of the trust I had. I recently took my truck in to have it looked at and they were unable to get the truck to duplicate it's issue when it was in there. So needless to say we had to continue to figure out the problem on our own. I know that I haven't been there in a few years and there has been a lot of staff and business changes. All the little details are irrelevant. All I know is by the end of my conversation I knew I didn't have the same feelings as I used to. I felt like I was talking to a dealership, there was no above and beyond to help find or resolve the issue. I am 100% confident that if I would've taken this same truck/same issue in before, they would've been reaching out to us for guidance on trying to duplicate the issue or see if there is anything "common" for that motor. I understand not every situation is perfect but I will always return to and pay more to the company who goes that extra mile. Maybe I'm the only one who feels this way and that's ok, I just hope Mike knows what's going on because he has always been a great guy! So...it's on to the...
Read moretook my grand prix gxp there for a trans rebuild. car felt fine then trans went out again 1yr and 3mths later(stored for winter). obviously there was some cut corners on the "full" rebuild. I took it back and they basically wasted 1/4 tank of gas and told me that it could be an over oiled cold air filter? I talked with the head mechanic for about 2 weeks wondering what was going on with it. they did a fluid change now the trans is completely gone. currently is making the same noise as it did the first time they rebuilt it. also took my 1997 explorer in for lower control arms to be installed because other shops told me they have play (I also experienced play). truck sat there for a week and all they did was grease the ball joints and align it. truck still shakes at high speeds and pulls a tad. head mechanic acted as if (over the phone) that he didn't want to deal with the torsion bar suspension and said that he greased the ball joints and that eliminated the play. I chose to just go somewhere else rather than arguing with them. was told that they would cut me a deal on labor on rebuilding the trans. no thanks! ill do it myself. nice staff...
