They have HIDDEN FEES. The price I was quoted is $2200 more than internet price. This is apart from $499 documentation fee. I already called them before making it to dealership and ask whether they have hidden fees. I was told "NO". The only fee the lady on the phone told me was $499 doc fee. I would not go there if I happen to know their deceptive shady sales tactics. Their internet price on cargurus assumes that you you are veteran, recent college graduate and bought a car from them before. They intentionally post lower prices on to entice you to come to the dealership. Once you are in the dealership, they behave as if they will honor the internet price. Once you test-drive and provide all financial documents, they tell you that you need to qualify for internet price. You have to be recent college graduate, veteran and already bought a car from them before to be eligible for internet price. None of this was explained to you before the final stages of buying process. This is not a joke. They "politely" ask you whether you qualify. This is borderline crime. Let's say price tag for tomatoes in grocery store is $1, you pay $1.5 at register because you don't qualify for $1. This is exactly what they do. I believe almost no one qualifies for internet price. You have to veteran, recent college graduate and bought a car from them before. Unbelievable! I believe there is no single human in this universe that will satisfy all three conditions to get internet price. This is not an ethical business. Stay away! Worse, they claim that this is what other dealers do in new jersey. This is not true. Other businesses have sound ethics code. Obviously, ethics is something they do not value. The only thing that is good about this business is their sales agents are very nice and kind. They are right that they were polite all the time and their sales agent is the best one I came across in New Jersey.
I told them I will report them to BBB and this is why they claim that I threaten and insult them. I am writing this review so that other customers beware of their shady sales tactics. I am actually from Europe and dealer that uses this shady tactics will be jailed for fraud in europe for sure. Anyway, I will also report them to FTC so that other customers will be protected. It is absurd that they claim I am writing this review to hurt their business. I do not care about them. This review was written so that other customers should not be enticed by deceptive lower prices that they post online to make you come to dealer. This is not the actual price of the car. They ask $2200 more in dealership once you provide your ssn and so on.
As for the other reviews, check the people who reviewed this business. Most of the reviewers has only 1-review. I do not believe they are genuine. The one I left here is genuine. Other 1-star reviews basically say the same thing that they charge $2200 more than advertised price.
Worse, they are making it like I insulted them and they decided to not to sell the car. This is far from true. This is not the way to do business. You cannot lie. This is not OK. I am the one that left the dealer. I even told their boss I am recording a video, and I asked him to reiterate the quote. He could not disclose it in my video as he knows I will report it to federal trade commission and it will be used against him in the court. Anyway, the screenshot I attached shows internet price of $12,388. They want to sell this car to me for $14,588 in their dealership.
I went to Honda dealer later and bought the same make/model with 15K less miles for $600 cheaper. It is honda certified, comes with 12 month/12,000 miles warranty. The car in this dealer had broken windshield and has only 1 month warranty. They told me they will fix it. After reading their response to my review, I doubt it. Stay away from them at all cost. Please vote this review up so that other decent people should be informed of their shady deceptive sales tactics. Thanks...
Read moreI am NOT the type to ever leave negative reviews but I'm genuinely baffled at how bad this dealership was. First I tried to call to schedule a test drive and they answered then immediately hung up on me. Called two more times during business hours, no answer. Called the next day, finally an answer but no confirmation for an appointment. Fine, whatever, maybe they don't do that. I come in, sit down with Santiago, he immediately starts asking if I'm buying a car today and when I say no he keeps pushing to try to get me to say yes. Note, he hasn't even shown me the car or asked for my license yet. I asked him if I could see a breakdown of the cost for the car (you know, fees, taxes, all that) and he tells me that to do that he needs to run my credit and hands me a paper. He also starts pressuring me to put money down even though I said I'm not sure I can yet and I was hoping he could run the numbers without a down payment to determine if I should even put anything down, but he keeps pushing. I also tell him I don't want to run my credit yet if I'm not sure I'm getting the car, so he goes to get his manager. Manager sits down, asks if I'm buying a car today and when I say no he asks what my plan is. I say I have several test drives because I still have a week with my rental (my old car was totaled) and he goes "why would you pay for a rental more if you can leave with a car today?" Because you still haven't even bothered to show me the car???
Here's where it gets worse. Santiago takes me out for the test drive, sits in the car without a word. As I'm adjusting the seat, he takes a phone call in the middle of his appointment with me?? Okay, maybe he's a busy guy, whatever. Then during the test drive, I ask for directions, and all I get is "ehhh wherever you want." So I drive, and this man starts scrolling through tiktoks at full volume and snickering at texts on his phone. I asked him a couple questions about the car, like basic safety features it has, and he has no idea. We get back, I go to look around, and he's just sitting in the car on his phone. I ask him to pop the truck, he doesn't reply, so I ask again and he pops it without a word. I ask him to pop the hood, same thing, on his phone, not a word. I couldn't get the latch undone and he wasn't paying attention to when I asked for assistance, same with getting the bar holding the hood unattached. I gave up and went in to talk to his manager. Manager comes over, I tell him it's not the car for me since I wasn't a fan of how it drove, and he gives me a weird attitude about why I chose to drive a Forte if I've never driven one before (as if people don't test drive different kinds of cars?). So he asks if there's anything else, I gave a vague answer to get out and he offers to show me other cars so I tell him I need to go back to work. He then asks what I do for work, and when I told him financial aid, he starts bombarding me with questions about who can get aid, age requirements, citizenship requirements, interest rates, differences between federal and private loans, who can get which type, etc etc etc. Normally I love answering these questions for people since I love helping them find what's best for them for school, but this just felt like he was trying to pull some kind of weird stunt at first.
Again, I never leave bad reviews. But the lack of care from Santiago, the pressure to run my credit prior to even LOOKING at the car or giving my license, and the strange barrage of financial aid questions from the manager just had me ready to run out the door the entire time. Do yourself a favor and...
Read moreGood Day - I really wanted to write this review and let everyone know what experience my daughter and I received from this company. From the moment we walked onto the lot we were greeted not in a salesman's kind of way - you know the ones that look at you like a compensation - we were greeted in a way of warmth and caring. Ivonne greeted us inside of the company and led us to the counter to speak with the receptionist who was a delight. Ivonne was actually available to help us and she really went over and beyond to make sure my daughter was able to purchase her very first car. It was almost like she held my daughter's hand through the entire process. Her attitude was warm and motherly. We also dealt with the manager which unfortunately I cannot remember his name but he too was warm and friendly and he made sure my daughter had all the proper paperwork so that nothing would go wrong. I would definitely recommend anyone to use Route 27 Auto Mall and ask for Ivonne. My daughter's name is Brittney and she and I would like to thank Ivonne and the manager for all of their help. P.S. Just a side note - as a mother it bothered my heart to hear another customer's child crying and I really wanted to help the little girl but unfortunately I didn't speak their language but Ivonne did and she went right over and gave the child a toy to comfort her. The child immediately stopped crying. So again if you want to be walked through your car purchasing process with a motherly warmth ask for Ivonne. Best...
