Was excited to see this place open up eventually since there is nothing like it down St. George or in a few miles. The atmosphere is very cool and the staff is always friendly and accommodating. I so want to like Humble but whenever I go there I feel like I'm in an abusive relationship.
Went to Humble the 1st week it opened but they had no physical menus available so we had to look at the menu on our phones. Understandable since it was the 1st week. Wanted to dine in however the staff claimed that there was a large party of people coming in and there wouldn't be any space to sit. The always friendly staff offered us seating at the bar but we declined and chose takeout instead. The pizzas were pleasant and well presented although very costly for a small NJ town. Their prices were comparable to places on New York's upper east or West side. Had to wait over for 45 minutes for 3 expensive personal pizzas that I had to take home.
Our second visit to Humble was during a heavy rain and it became obvious that parking by Humble is limited and scarce. The side street is dark, and muddy so getting out on the passenger side is risky at best if you don't want to end up slipping or taking a mud bath. We were greeted by the wonderful staff and were told that we wouldn't be able to to dine in again due to several parties going on that night. Seating at the bar this time was out of the question since the people who were waiting for their party to begin were hanging out there. This time however they did have a menu but because it was raining and crowded we decided to go elsewhere. Third visit to Humble...a car being towed blocked the already narrow side street which limited parking again. Despite the traffic jam and the ice covered streets we eventually found parking when someone pulled out. Entered Humble and was greeted by the always courteous staff. Again unfortunately they had a large party and we couldn't be seated. Told that wait time for 3 people would take over an hour or more. I asked the staff if next time should we make reservations but they said that it's not necessary. We ended up going to Los Noches in Elizabeth and we're seated immediately despite several birthday parties taking place that night.
All I can say is that I am Humbled to know that I will never eat at this place. It could be poor timing on my part but with Humble I always get the vibe of an exclusive velvet rope club that you have to know someone, just to get in. If you make it difficult for me to give you my money then I probably shouldn't be giving it. Great...
Read moreI saw this place on a IG reels and decided to give it a try since it was near and new. I love trying new places. It looks great and they definitely sealed the deal for me when I heard brick oven Birria pizza☺️😁. Got an Uber went there with my daughter. I was super excited to try it like a kid heading out for ice cream. I loved the decor, the lighting, it’s a nice place but I was so disappointed on the food. 😫
I ordered wings and fries as appetizers just to get my feet wet because I was skeptical about the noodles and the pizza. Wings were good but the fries were saggy like very oily. I sent them back and asked for another. The other one I received was just as saggy😫.
I asked the server about the pizza and the noodles, she told me she was new and was not sure. She called the manager over, I asked him about the feedback on the pizza and the noodles. He told me they were good. So that sealed the deal for me and I ordered both! $18 for a personal size pizza and $22 for noodles I was excited! 😜 Boy was I disappointed when the food arrived. The cheese on the pizza looked unmelted and the pizza was cold. The pizza is not made in house or they are pre made and frozen. It looked like fancied up public school pizza.😬 We sent it back. After all that, I asked for dessert because I love churros and they had it in their menu. That did not disappoint ☺️❤️. Love every bite. That and the drinks were the highlight of the night. Still ended up spending $90+ dollars after they took the pizza and the fries off my bill. Which is nothing to me but I wish I liked the food I ordered. Maybe I’ll give it another chance and try some other...
Read moreSoooo freaking disappointed!!! I went this past weekend with my girlfriends to do karaoke and have some fun. We love the group Playoke, they put on a fun karaoke night. The bartender kept forgetting to make our drink and we were sitting at the bar. We chopped it up to a busy night Then the owner/manager “Jay” came over to us and gave us a table. After sitting down we ordered wings and it went downhill. One of us was unhappy with the order and asked for it to be sent back. The waitress didn’t understand the order and she no longer wanted the meal. Customer service would have you come to us and ask what could be done to fix it. Instead JAY came over with the meal, put his fingers in the food pointing out that the order was right. Then when my friend said okay she will keep it to avoid making a scene- JAY snatched the food OUT HER HANDS, ROLLED HIS EYES AND WALKED OFF!! Never in our time in Linden have we ever encountered something like this. I’m telling you, this man needs to go! And he lost 4 customers because of this. Ladies if you want a good time, there are many other establishments that are more fun!! Humble Pizza? No- he should change it to Jerk Pizza because...
