Poor customer service. Ordered a specific cut of Lamb, was sent home with 140$ worth of lamb from a differing cut. Made a special trip to Thielens for the product and on NYE was disappointed to find my meal would have to completely change directions. Called and spoke with John (owner), who proceeded to argue and to tell me I ordered incorrectly and only could offer a refund if returned. I live 2+ hrs from the location and Dinner is scheduled for tonight. So, freezing and returning next time I am in the area doesn't seem to work very well. I have known Thielens for their quality and service. This time it was anything but..
Though it seems micro-managing a butcher shop is unnecessary, I will be sure and double check the cuts next time.
I have no doubt, the meat I received will be of good quality, just not what was ordered...
Read moreThis is what a meat market is supposed to look like...and smell like. The meat counter is 60' long and houses great cuts of beef, pork, and chicken on one end and their expertly created & smoked bacon, sausages, and lunch meat on the other. If you don't see what you are looking for it's probably available but not displayed, ask or check the huge selection on boards posted behind the counter. There are hundreds of other products also available including spices, sauces, breads, and buns. They have canned goods, charcoal, condiments, & cold beverages - really everything to create a great meal.
The prices are reasonable, the selection is vast, & the service is great. The location, at an exit ramp just off highway 10, makes getting off and on the highway really...
Read moreI will never go to this meat market again. I bought a side of beef from them, and they kept my brisket and tried to sell me the tongue separately for over $8/lb. They also gave me more soup bones than any whole beef I've ever bought. They use the soup bones just to make the weight of 300LBS. This is a corporate scam meat market. They don't slaughter on site, and I am pretty sure they don't use farmers locally. I know the Pierz location gets their beef from out of state. I know they are separate owners, but probably the same situation. If you are reading this review, I would look for MEAT LOCKERS. Not these corporate run scams where they keep your good cuts and make you pay for the whole cow. Then they sell it at a higher price in...
