As God and Kermit THE Frog as my witness, every word that follows is true….consider this a warning for your sake and any poor soul that might wander into a COSTCO looking for savings.
I purchased a new set of tires here about 18 months ago. The price was right and the included rotation, nitrogen, and road hazard coverage which made the deal very appealing. On March 3, 2024 I took the truck back and arrived before COSTCO opened. I was the first person to arrive at the tire counter that morning. (Including the employees) I explained the issue and the employee seemed genuinely shocked and even appalled when after he asked if I’d made an appointment and I informed him that I had not.
Note that I didn’t need a new set with balance or even a rotation…none of that. This is a ONE tire problem. I felt as if he misunderstood my request and thought that I had an 18-wheeler with all flat tires sitting just beyond his garage doors.
I was informed that in 30 minutes (what could possibly be done in such a small amount of time?) HALF of their bays would be full with vehicles that had appointments. I glanced through the window to a garage that at that moment had ZERO cars and 4 or 5 empty bays. I was then told that they would work me in but it could take up to 3 hours.
So, I set off to look for discounts and sample food, because that’s what one does at COSTCO on a Sunday.
Ater waiting over an hour, I was told that due to the prorated value of the tire (60,000 mile tires had about 3,500 miles on them) and that the tire I bought was discontinued I would have to pay a fee. This came to over $100. The tires cost about $250 each so the math didn’t make sense to me and I was not happy about this, but like most people I didn’t read the fine print when I bought the tires and as I previously implied, I didn’t come to a warehouse store on a Sunday morning looking for a fight. Also, you know is how sometimes you’re standing across the counter from someone, and you look into their dead eyes, and you know that there is nothing to be won in this fight? Yep, It was that kind of moment. I just wanted one tire repaired or replaced.
The gentleman told me he’d found a comparable tire at another warehouse and would have it shipped to the Little Rock Location. It was expected to take a week or less and he would call me. 10 days pass and nothing. I received no communication. I called Costco and the person I spoke with said verified the tire was ordered but could not confirm a delivery date. I called again on March 25. 3 weeks and a day after my initial visit. The person said they could see the order for the tire was active. They genuinely seemed to care and said that they would speak to the manager and have them call me. That was 4 days ago. No one has called me. Costco has had my money for over a month and I have had to make all of the effort in this transaction. I apologize to the reputable tire shops around town that have provided great customer service for years. I was enticed by a price that would save me a couple hundred bucks and I have lost all of those savings in wasted time.
If you’ve made it this far into this review, I probably don’t even need to tell you this, but I’m going to do it anyway - IT IS NOT WORTH IT. DO NOT make the same stupid mistake I did! Go to Austin Brothers,Discount Tire and Brake, or that guy your uncle Larry recommended! Save yourself the pain and support a local businesses at the same time. In the end you will find that it is the better value.
I will continue, in your stead, to battle the forces of evil that most certainly use the COSCO tire center as a front for their true nefarious and still yet to be revealed purpose because it’s clear that they have no iIdea how to run a tire shop AND, I’m pretty sure that I heard on of them say “Hail Hydra!” Under their breath.
There is no need for you to suffer with me....
Read moreI went in with two other girlfriends (who weren’t members) the other day. One wanted to get a membership but couldn’t because she didn’t have a valid U.S. ID however the guy at the membership desk told me that they could come shopping with me any time, and we thanked him and shopped around. Whenever we went to the bottled water section, they had two different price signs for the ozarka water brand, and I took a pic. One sign said 5.99 and the other 5.49. Whenever it came time to check out, I told the cashier, and she said they would honor the 5.49 price. BUT they seemed to be so annoyed when they were doing the price change on our cases of water. I’m sure if I hadn’t spoken English, they would have been talking trash about us. That’s problem number one. Problem number 2 was paying time. Whenever my friends wanted to pay for their stuff, since they didn’t have their membership, I had to use mine right? Well after the cashiers scanned my membership for their transactions, they were so RUDE! They said they couldn’t accept any payment from them! That it had to come straight from the member’s hands! I was DUMBFOUNDED! They wouldn’t accept their form of payment bc they weren’t members! I HAD TO PAY FOR THEIR STUFF ALSO! Imagine if I hadn’t had enough free money in the bank to cover their 125 dollar transaction! I think this is PURE BS. I told them how the guy at membership services told us that they could come shopping with me, but they insisted on receiving money only from me. There is no common sense behind this! I told the cashiers that I wasn’t gonna renew my membership with them, and the black woman said “ok” like she didn’t care. And whenever I called costco right after leaving, the manager didn’t offer a solution nor did anything about it. He didn’t seem to care either. He said that it was a rule that cashiers had to receive money straight from the member’s hands. All I know is that I was NEVER a Costco member before Costco came to Little Rock and yet I shopped with relatives at New York and Texas costcos and NEVER ran into this problem! RUDE RUDE RUDE! Not renewing my membership here anymore. I’ll stick...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting my local Costco warehouse, and I must say it was an absolutely fantastic experience. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was greeted by friendly staff who were more than willing to assist me with any questions or concerns I had. The wide variety of products available and the great deals offered truly made my shopping trip worthwhile.
One aspect that stood out to me during my visit was Costco's commitment to diversity and inclusivity. The store caters to a diverse range of customers, offering a wide range of products that meet various dietary requirements. However, I noticed that there was a lack of halal meat options available in the meat section.
As a member of the Muslim community, halal meat is an essential part of my diet, and it would be immensely appreciated if Costco could consider offering halal meat in their warehouses. The demand for halal products is growing, and by providing halal meat, Costco would not only cater to the needs of its diverse customer base but also promote inclusivity and cultural sensitivity.
I have always admired Costco for its commitment to quality and affordability, and I believe that introducing halal meat to its range would align with these values. Costco has the potential to become a destination of choice for many Muslim families, as they could enjoy the benefits of shopping in bulk and accessing a wide variety of halal products all in one place.
In conclusion, my experience at Costco has been consistently positive, and I believe that the addition of halal meat to their product offerings would be a wonderful step towards inclusivity and accommodating the diverse needs of their customers. I encourage Costco to consider this suggestion and explore the possibilities of bringing halal meat to their warehouses. Thank you for your attention and for continuously striving to improve the shopping experience for all customers.
Update: Thanks Costco for listening and fulfilling my request. I can shop halal meat in my Costco now! Please keep up...
