You rarely see an employee actually working here, not even at the front desk. Shelves are frequently empty or just fake fronted (product with a tag nearby that has been placed into an empty spot so that, at a glance, the product is stocked). The lines to checkout at the store, the very rare actual human checkers, and the fact that the self checkout kiosks aren’t open for us to check out our own groceries and get out of the store versus standing in lines 10 customers deep…. The only other grocery store nearby is a Walmart a couple of miles down the road, which possibly has something to do with how this one is so poorly run: where else do we go that’s not out of the way? It’s a very disheartening testament by management, a corporate indifference to people in the store.

7/17/22: The produce department has been consistently poor of late. Notice the shriveled corn husks and dark silk indicating old corn. Fruit flies and other pests are persistent here. That indicates rotting produce. Krogers should be embarrassed. 7/23/22: Impossible to not notice the swarm of fruit flies around the onions and tomatoes with clearly damaged and spoiled produce. 7/30/22: Moldy tomatoes. Very easy to see if you bothered looking. 8/6/22: Damaged tomatoes left for the fruit flies. Someone in Kroger produce just doesn’t care. 8/13/22: Another week, another feasting of fruit flies around the onions.

This Kroger is conveniently located off Chenal Parkway and has Clicklist!! If you have never used Clicklist, you should. You add to your cart everything you want to buy, select a time to pick it up and drive up where they load the items in your car. It saves me so much money because I actually stick to what I need. Besides Clicklist, this Kroger has a great selection of fresh produce. You can find abstract veggies like celery root and tons of greens. Avoid last minute holiday grabs. It is a super Kroger so it has a pharmacy, home decor, toys, clothes, and more.

3 out of 5 stars shopping experience, but I will no longer describe the store a complete hell-hole of derelict simple people engaged in human psychological experimentation. Earlier this year I had the absolute worst shopping experience ever. EVER! (read below) We're talking, "Am I on an episode of, What Would You Do," level disappointment, aggression, and turmoil. I vowed never to return. Fortunately I found myself in a bind and had no other choice. The store was clean, staff was about 50/50 in the friendliness category, and the self checkout experience seems to have improved a bit. The attendants present were friendly to me and I was able to see them helping other customers. Perhaps an unpopular opinion, but certain people just shouldn't be allowed to use self checkout and from anecdotal conversations had in line mostly don't want to use them. The elder population with mobility issues and a general lack of understanding or disdain for technology and those with massive loads of groceries are not now and never will be the right candidate for self-checkout. An increased availability of actual cashiers to tend to these customers is an absolute must. Kroger as a whole and not just this store seems to miss the mark on this. Even Walmart is doing more to address this issue, perhaps not with more cashiers but larger self-checkout stations and more attendants in the area. Walmart has also solved the puzzle on line-building, which this store doesn't seem to grasp. The chaotic, disorganized, and confusing free for all they call the self-checkout line is reminiscent of Mad Max with the violence being slightly more passive aggressive than the post apocalyptic anarchists of the Thunder Dome. Stock levels and organization seem to have improved. I still feel like an unfortunate inconvenience if a store personnel or a vendor is stocking the shelves of the aisle I am strutting through, but maybe that's the wave of the future. This is the "fancy" Kroger and fancy people treat customers like an inconvenience.

4 years I wrote a 5 star review of this location. This was my favorite location in Central Arkansas. Sadly that has dramatically changed. I had my worst shopping experience ever 01/22/22 around 7pm. I'm assuming due to the unfortunate staff shortage all the registers with actual cashiers were checking their last customers and allowing no more in line. The self-checkouts were the only option. I was tricked into walking down to the pharmacy end of the store only to find those registers were closed but the lights were left on. I returned to the other self-checkouts to find the line was growing, but not terrible. However, the customers checking out were beginning to pile up as it appeared they needed assistance, but there was no cashier there to help. About 10 minutes of us all standing around staring at each other passed when she finally appeared. However, instead of helping the customers she approached the line and told us al that we had to move to a different aisle. Apparently there were two lines formed on separate aisles. There were no issues with this, and somehow it worked fine until she appeared. She told the people in my line we had to go to the end of the other line or she would not allow anyone else check out. This caused such outrage that arguments started amongst the customers. It became so unruly my son felt scared for his safety. She was incredibly rude about the whole issue and provoked outrage amongst the customers. This could have been avoided if the station had not been left unattended, or if it there was no other option then to offer something other than making us all go to the back of the other line. Perhaps some signage stating where the line was supposed to be would have been a good option. The climate created that night was so disgusting that I will never return to this store again. I have had the displeasure of dealing with this cashier before, and she has never been anything but rude. She is an example of what is wrong with customer service in...

Firstly this Kroger has all you could need or want in a grocery store. It is well stocked and clean. There is so much more than groceries available at this location and it is a very nice place in a good neighborhood. That being said some of the staff is not accommodating. They act as if it is a problem for you to need them to do their job. This has happened in the seafood department and in the sandwich pizza area in the deli. 2 places where their service is of importance and directly related to handling the requests and needs of the customer. Also I arrived just a couple minutes before midnight not knowing that was when they closed. I was promptly told they were closed bit they let me go get my eggs quickly... That was a nice thing. But upon my checkout they did nothing but try to guilt me for having come so late and remind me about the doors or whatever inconvenience it was causing them. I do appreciate they let me get my eggs. And I thanked the manager profusely. But instead of saying welcome to me and how they love their customers I was made to feel as if I was a burden. I'm from the poorer side of town and I guess needing eggs late at night is more understood than it is on the rich side of town where so much money is spent that the employees feel the customer should be grateful that Kroger has provided a place to get groceries and poor service all in one convenient location. I don't mean to sound ungrateful and to most it may seem old fashioned to expect that great customer service should always be present... And by great I just mean people who don't make you feel bad for having burdened them with a job they are being paid to do. And if they are going to be nice and allow the last late commer a chance to buy eggs, being gracious and smiling even though it was an allowed inconvenience and remembering we are all...

At Krogers on Chenal December 14 at 10:00.

Grandson had to use the restroom. Went to the family bathroom. So dirty. Floors sticky. Commode was terrible. Went to the ladies restroom hoping for cleaner conditions. Just as bad.

So sad that my neighborhood Krogers is so dirty now.

Worst of all. Needed to use coupons, get gift cards, and had a basketful of items. So I went to the check out line with a checker to help me. On actual checker. 5 people in line. Still waited as I had my grandson with me and did not feel comfortable with self check. When the groceries were checked there was no sacker. The teller sacked three bags. I finished paying and went to help with sacking. The teller then stopped sacking my groceries and started checking out the next person! I was afraid our groceries would get mixed up. The next customer told the teller that very thing. This teller looked disgusted and reluctantly helped me finish. I had over $350 in groceries. Went to talk to manager. The two ladies at the desk just ignored me, talking to each other. Left the store. Called Chenal store 3 times to ask for a manager as I had a grandson who needed to eat and nap, and was put on wait. Then the phone hung up all three times on me. Got on the website and asked for a corporate number. I have called twice and no one will pick up to talk to me. I hate that Krogers is treating their patrons this way. This was my store, even for pharmacy. I guess I will drive further for actual service from some one who cares and want...
