I began acupuncture at First Oriental Therapy Center on March 20, 2018. I was very apprehensive and skeptical about acupuncture, however; I was also desperate. I’ve been suffering from chronic sinus problems, allergies and asthma for over 40 years. I had the sinus surgery done in 2010, due to me getting up to 18 sinus infections in a year; for many years. The sinus surgery brought the sinus infections down to 2 per year, which is better than 18. After the surgery, I still had massive sinus pressure, debilitating headaches, poor temperature regulation, aches, pains, dizziness, nausea, lack of coordination, inability to initiate and sustain sleep. I went back & forth to the Doctor and was prescribed so many different medications. Unfortunately, none of them helped. I also tried a variety of home remedies, that only worked temporarily. After a Google search, I found that acupuncture may be a good treatment option for me. That’s when I made an appointment with FOTC, using Groupon. It is now April 23, 2018, I’ve had 5 acupuncture treatments and I don’t have any sinus, allergy or asthma problems at all; thanks to First Oriental Therapy Center!! I’ve also stopped taking all sinus and asthma medication. I still take Xyzal, but will also cease that medication soon. Not even sure why I’m still taking it, but I’m being transparent. I actually feel AMAZING!!!! I really appreciate FOTC. The Staff there are very welcoming, professional and friendly. They also healed me and I feel like I can now participate in a lot of activities that I couldn’t in the past, because I was always too sick. If you’re thinking about acupuncture, just do it! You’ll be so happy to get your...
Read moreAs a man in my 60’s I have had issues with back pain for the past couple of decades. I had been treated over the years by physical medicine specialists, physical therapists, and chiropractors, however the results were usually disappointing. I’m a runner, but for the past couple of years I have also been bothered by pain in my knees and hips which at times has made it difficult for me to run.
Last year I was looking forward to participating in a half marathon that I had entered, as well as a medical mission trip to South America a few months later. The training for the half marathon was becoming increasingly painful and it was becoming doubtful to me whether I would be able to participate. I was also wondering whether my back would be able to stand up to the long flight for the mission trip. A friend of my brothers suggested that I make an appointment with Lucy Li, his massage therapist at First Oriental Therapy Center. I was a little skeptical, never having tried massage therapy, but I took his advice and I’m glad I did.
On my first visit I was pleased by Lucy Li’s professionalism and friendliness, and afterward I felt much better. After a couple of more sessions the pain was almost completely gone, and ultimately, I was able to complete the half marathon (I’m currently in training for a full marathon), and I had no back problems following the long flight to Peru. I now see Lucy monthly and am pain free. I think that perhaps Lucy’s clients benefit by the fact that she was trained as a massage therapist both in China and the US and she makes use of techniques learned in both countries. I highly recommend First Oriental...
Read moreBob: I had trouble walking and had episodes with severe pain and partial paralysis for about ten years. The doctors said I had fibromialgia and something else but they didn’t know what. Very frustrating!!!! I was given lyrica, Suboxone, and Effexor. There were side effects from the drugs that I did not like and they were not very effective. The entire body pain and the difficulty of moving my arms and legs normally was causing me to miss so much work that I had to go on disability. I limped into First Oriental Therapy in horrible pain one day. He put some needles in my hands and neck and the pain was gone and I was walking normally. I couldn’t believe it. I had not walked that way or felt that pain free in years. I paid for ten treatments in advance. My symptoms have been gone since the second treatment. I have not limped or had any of those horrible spells of pain and partial paralysis. So far the longest I have gone between treatments is a week. I just hope that I can soon go months or years between treatments. I will be going back to work soon because of the success of the Acupuncture. I don’t know how it works but it sure worked on me. Its hard to function when you are suffering, I just got a new lease on life thanks to the Acupuncture I received at First...
