Gordon Food Service Store — Local services in Livonia

Prices seem to be on the rise at GFS. Have always liked this store for bulk groceries over Sam's club and Costco. Although it is smaller it has NO membership cost and usually cheaper prices. However today it seemed as if the prices were up. Even though some items were higher priced NoWHERE can compare with their price on lunch meat. The quality is great at about 1/2 the price of the other grocery stores. In the last 6 months I've realized their lunch meat last longer to. As deli meat at my local Kroger and Spartan state the date of purchase as the sell by date? As a rule of thumb (so they say) deli style lunch meat should be consumed within 7 days of opening. At GFS the meat is good much longer then a week. Even lunch meat pre-packaged will have an expiration on it a full month away HOWEVER if you read it states that it must be consumed or frozen within 7...

Beware, was there today (6-26-20) to pick up a online order, I had the email for my order and bank transaction SHOWING it was paid for, and the Lady manager kept saying I didn’t pay for it and would not give me the product Without showing her a receipt, but they don’t give you a receipt until you pick up the order!!!. I went back into the store and was going to cancel the order, and another guy there was very helpful and found my receipt it was sitting on the counter 2 feet away from the lady!! first time shopping here, bought meatballs for a potluck and a bag of tyson chicken nuggets. went to make some nuggets 2 days after my purchase only to find out the whole entire bag is bad from having a hole in it! all the nuggets are grey and spoiled. i know for a fact there’s no way that hole happened after i left the store, and i live 5 minutes away so they for sure didn’t spoil on my watch. due to my work schedule, i wasn’t able to call about a return until a few days after, only to find out store policy doesn’t allow returns after a day LOL. won’t be shopping here again. good ol’ waste of money 🥳 make sure you check your items for damage before...
