I have been coming to Sparkle for a couple of years now & always have had excellent service! The staff have been extremely pleasant & professional. The facility is very clean & they always go the extra mile to ensure the customer is comfortable & happy with their service. Today I had a pedicure by a new trainee that is in the early phase of her career as a nail tech - she did an excellent job & was very professional during the service, stopping only at one point to ask for assistance with the French polish I requested. I would like to remind everyone how important it is to be kind, have grace & communicate their needs to their tech efficiently & effectively. We all have started new jobs/careers at some point in our professional journey & in order to develop a strong/quality skill set, practice is critical! If you do not have the time or patience to sit for a service performed by a beginner, then communicate this when you check in. Bashing a young beginner over something youâre not happy with is negative & discouraging & extremely unjust! Working hard & learning a new skill set are not crimes or a sign of poor service! In fact, itâs the opposite - it shows a level of commitment & dedication by every staff member to ensure the new techs are trained correctly & learning proper techniques - that is lacking these days, in nearly every industry. Every staff member at Sparkle is always willing to step up & lend a hand and/or fix any issues that arise & they do it with professionalism & a smile, because they actually CARE about the quality of their work & satisfying the customer. I have personally experienced this & came here to specifically say that it was an absolute pleasure to get a pedicure from an extremely sweet & attentive young staff member, hopefully aiding in the development of a skill set & launch of a new career. Be kind & stay positive - complaining & bashing young people (or anyone whoâs trying for that matter!) that are learning is NOT...
Read moreLet me start off by saying, I donât want to write this review. This happened on Saturday 2/22. These were my birthday/vacation nails as I told my nail tech at #8. Who was very nice, but my issue is, what happened to the skin around my nails. Typically nail salons will have you wash your hands during sns not all but most. All put cuticle oil around your nail when finished. Unfortunately my nail tech did not. I was sitting getting a pedicure when my fingers felt so dry and itchy it was very uncomfortable. I showed her my nails and said I hate to bother you but they are so dry can I have either some oil or lotion. Hoping she knew what was best. I have been getting SNS for 10+ years and this has never happened. She said lotion. I put the lotion on and it immediately started to burn. I had to stop her again and said I hate to bother you but is this normal my fingers are burning. She had me go wash them and I came back then they looked like the second photo in my car. She said we would talk to the manager and see what caused it. I had to ask what the manager said, the manager then said well you must of had something on your nails prior. Myself and my nail tech said no she had nothing on her nails. Then another lady looked and said itâs probably a chemical burn. What did you put on it. I said she gave me lotion. She said you shouldnât have put lotion on it because there is alcohol in lotion only oil.
My biggest complaint was there was no apology, no promise to correct, no discount, no redo. This was my first time at Sparkle, and I had told #8, I was hoping to not have to drive to Charlotte anymore for I normally do, but itâs bc I get such a great experience for the same price. I spent $106-109 today on nails and toes and no apology for what they assumed was a chemical burn. I really wanted to come back, but at this point I will keep driving an hour. Customer service would have went a long way for me returning even in this incident because everyone...
Read moreI would be very careful going here. I mean no disrespect to anyone that works here because I understand that things can happen but I am quite upset with my experience having gotten acrylic extensions here. I when to remove one of my nails because it was lifting slightly (completely normal after about two ish weeks of wear. Upon putting it into acetone to soak it off, it started burning extremely bad which I chalked up to the nail having broken a bit underneath. However what I didnât realize was that my nail had be drilled so extremely thin before the acrylic was applied that my real finger nail had completely split horizontally. It took me an hour to remove the nail slowly using a file and carefully clipping away the area that wasnât raw. After a couple weeks my nail was beginning to regrow but I started to notice a spot in the middle of that finger that was white, that was receding down towards my cuticle. Long story short, my nail had begun to pull apart from my nail bed. I was forced to clip out the affected area, so now my nail is completely spilt down the center and extremely short and still thin from where the nail had been applied. There is a couple other fingers that this had happened to as well so I know it couldnât have been from hitting that nail or anythingâthis nail was just the worst of them. Just giving my feedback on the filing, my nails were beautiful!
Edit: the person theyâre talking about in the...
