The SODA is always FLAT!
UPDATE: 6 months later: THE SODA (more specifically the Coke) STILL STINKS OF SEWER AND REMAINS FLATTER THAN GUM ON THE SIDEWALK. They don't care of course.
If you pay almost $6 after tax for a large drink and every one of your Coke fountains dispense flat pop, it ruins the night/film. This has always been the case for my last 5 visits within the past 7 months. I tested each Coca-Cola from each of the 3-4 dispensers, and they all had no taste and slightly smelled, of all things, sewer water (I'm unsure what would even cause this smell, though; expired syrup? Stagnant water? Who honestly knows, but it's there to wed a dreadfully dead taste.)
Originally, I thought the bland/flat taste was a just a expired syrup or carbonated water mixing issue and that it would be resolved the next time I visited; that soon turned into another "next time", and then another, and another...and now I am writing this admonitory review. I had to fill my cup to the brim with ice just to make it cold enough to make another flat, non-Coca-Cola pop tolerable.
If you're the local owner or manager of this theater, I don't mind paying $6 a drink (well...actually, I really do), BUT PLEASE MAKE IT NOT FLAT! That is literally the least and only thing you have to do beyond turning the lights on to the theater in the morning and off after everyone goes home. Jesus help...
Read moreThey have added a lot of new amenities that have made it even better. Leather recliner type seats while watching a movie and the seats have a rumble effect that's goes with what movie your watching very cool touch. They also offer free refills on drinks and popcorn which is great most theaters now charge you. This has always been our go to place for a movie and they have made it better what more could you ask for. They also have several arcade style games in the main lobby which my son and me really enjoy until our movie starts. Staff are always helpful and friendly can't say enough on this, always a fun family experience at cinema 8 at fountain place. The parking is great huge parking lot and well lit after dark. There's also a wide variety of snacks like candy and nachos to go with your drinks and popcorn. There's also some really cool movies memorabilia by the ticket taking area that cool to check out. All around a great place to catch all the new movies out. Almost forgot they have throwback movies I believe weekly from Disney to Star wars and in the summer they have a lot of kids...
Read moreAs you can see, many reviewers absolutely love this theater and for good reasoning. However, a few rate it quite low even though the theater is top notch. I've been to many theaters in West Virginia since going to movies is one of my favorite hobbies to do both by myself and with friends. With this in mind, I can tell you that I have never been disappointed in the cleanliness or the quality of the movie screenings/food; It's always amazing. Also the ads before the movies are quite funny and entertaining and often show trailers for movies being released in the future. There is also a small game area at the entrance of the theater providing a few arcade games such as the claw machine. There are very nice small touches such as a butter machine for popcorn and a cheese machine for nachos. Overall, I can guarantee you that you will not be disappointed whenever you come here whether it be by yourself, with friends, or even with your...
