DO NOT TRUST MIKE Long rant ahead…So on April 28th, the screen digitizer in my two-year-old iPhone X went out and the AT&T store on Hinkleville Road sent me to Mike’s iFix. They got me in right away, replaced the screen with their "premium" OLED replacement and I even had them replace my battery at the same time. I paid $385 for these services. I got the phone back the same day, it worked just fine and I was a very satisfied customer, we even had a nice conversation while I was getting paperwork settled. Fast forward to May 16th, 18 days later, and I pull my phone out of my pocket and the screen was blank. The phone still rang, beeped, and dinged, but I just couldn’t use the screen. There was absolutely no damage on the glass or the phone, I just pulled it out of my pocket to check the weather and it was blank. I checked my receipt and saw there was a lifetime warranty, (that Mike even mentioned when I had it repaired). Awesome, I thought! Unfortunately, that was Saturday, May 16th and they were already closed for the day, so I had to wait until Tuesday (today) to take it in. So, after they have a look at my phone, Mike informs me there is a “hairline” crack on the inner screen OLED, even with no visible damage anywhere on the outer glass screen or history of physical damage on my part. Mike informs me that there is no way the manufacturer will replace this screen but he can put another one on for the same cost (minus labor). My issue is that I didn’t have a warranty with the manufacturer of the screen he chose to put on my phone, I had a warranty with Mike’s iFix. If I had damaged my phone, I would have eaten the cost, and paid for a new screen or a new phone…but that’s not what happened! I can (and did) buy a new iPhone. I would totally understand if there was visual damage to my device but my phone had not had any rough handling or unusual usage…just normal use. If Mike chooses to put in substandard parts that are easily damaged by normal use within 18 days of installation, that’s Mike’s problem and not my fault. He should replace the screen as guaranteed by HIS warranty, not keep referring to some ethereal “manufacturer’s warranty”…which he conveniently hid behind during the entire conversation we were having when he was telling me how he WASN’T going fix my phone. It is impossible for me to understand how the inner screen can be so fragile as to be cracked without any trauma or damage to the “tough” outer glass when the device was just in my pocket…other than it being a substandard knock-off product. So, if you decide to get your screen replaced at Mike’s iFix, don’t trust his “warranty”, as it is just a cheap gimmick. You should expect the substandard parts he puts in your phone to break with normal usage in less than 30 days, and you should expect to not to get any help from him when you present your “lifetime warranty” when your...
Read moreI went to mikes Ifix in lone oak, I live in reidland, I went to buy a charger for my phone. I have been there before and I loved the charger which had a lifetime guarantee, but due to no fault of the manufacture I had to get new ones. I went in and told the guy I need a charger I have gotten before here, it has a lifetime guarantee and it was approx 45.00 so do you know what I need because I want the same one. Yes but I need to know what you need. I need a charger for my iPhone yes but what do you want, this just went on and on and I was truely coming unglued because here I have come out of my way just to get chargers that I got before and this guy stands there looking at me like he is captain of the world and I am a dumb ass. So I said I will go home and see because I didn’t know what else to do and he said well if I can see your phone I can tell you what you need. So I’m like finally so he goes over pull one down and starts to hand it to me and I said I want 2 of them. So he goes gets me another one. He gives me my receipt never said thank you come back glad we could help. I do t know if he is the owner or not but I can say if he is, he is his own worst enemy. I will of course make them honor the lifetime warranty but that will be the last time I drop 100.00 at mikes fix it. A man came in when I was almost done and once he handed me my receipt he went and ask the guy what he could do for him. So I’m getting my items together no bag, and he never says another word to me. I’m telling you people, with all the convenience of ordering on line we DO NOT HAVE TO TAKE RUDENESS AS OUR ONLY OPTION ANYMORE. I’m sure my little 100.00 will not make you or break you but in the end you will wonder what happened to my business. This is...
Read moreThe guys were speedy during the process of replacing my smart phone screen, but it took 24 hrs after they finished for my finger lock to start working again. And the back to my phone which normally does not come off & the battery does not come out now is not wanting to stay together. I'm going to have to try to glue it myself. Other than that I have no complaintds. They offered for me to bring it back and let them do it, however Ilive more than an hour away.
I started this review giving 3 stars.. However, within the first 2 weeks of having my device back, today my brand new $186 screen IS CRACKED WORSE THAN THE ORIGINAL screeen was when I took it in to be fixed.. ..I absolutely WILL NOT BE GOING BACK HERE! Furthermore I highly advise to GO ELSEWHERE save urself hassle and still u have a broken device
I apologize I just saw ur response and cannot figure out how to comment without putting it here. My only guess would be due to the back of the phone and the screen not being bonded together correctly. The screen (and the back also) stick out slightly further than it should. And therefor when I sat the phone from my hand onto the counter (screen down) it must have connected at a perfectly wrong angle causing crack. Now, it has gotten worse wnd worse every day since it happened. Very frusterating. I really dont know why this happened. This is...
