As with most stores on the Peninsula, the selection is not great. I wish stores here would carry more healthy and organic products (truly healthy, not just stuff marketed to seem healthy). This is the only reason I take away one star.
But the service is very good, the people are very friendly and helpful, the store is clean, they have quality fresh meats (and a fantastic meat sale once a year where you can stock up your freezer), and they have a good (but small) deli.
They're fried chicken is the same brand you get at Okies and all over the peninsula (Church's brand) but SID's chicken tastes better because they sell Church's ORIGINAL recipe chicken and don't sell the type that's overly spicy. It's simply good fried chicken. Others who sell Church's fried chicken choose to sell only the spicy kind (and they do not label it as spicy, so it's an unpleasant surprise if you don't like spicy). And the BBQ chicken on the bone at SID's is awesome! I suggest eating each bite with a mouthful of Lays potato chips. Now if they'd only sell crisp crinkle cut fries I'd be in chicken and...
Read moreJanette should not be a "Front End Manager" or in my opinion, be in CUSTOMER SERVICE at all. I had a clearance item (with a black line through the bar code) with no dicsount price on it. She told me she couldn't ring it up without a price, as if it was my fault it hadn't been properly priced upon markdown. Then in a very put off tone said she would have to go look for one on the shelf at full price. Not finding one on the shelf, she typed in the barcode, and like magic, the full price appeared! She then, as front end manager, could discount it appropriately. Then she looked at me and with a rude tone said, "Do you want it?!" I was half tempted to say no, just because of her attitude. But I said "If I didn't want it I wouldn't have had you do it." And her "have a nice day" was very abrupt. I have been in customer service all my life. It is your job to satisfy the customer and do it with a good attitude and...
Read moreSmall selection of stuff compared to most grocery stores I've been to (even the ones in smaller towns). The employees we're helpful when it came to helping me find stuff, but I was surprised by the small selection of chips and other things. For example, I was looking for PopCorners which is that most grocery stores I've been to and they didn't have any. Prices were a little high, though I'm used to that when it comes to grocery stores in small areas. The grocery store with a little crowded as well, not in terms of people but in terms of how packed and everything was. I've been to worse and I've been to better, hence the 3 star rating. There's not much competition out there though when it comes to grocery stores so unless you want to drive a good distance it...
