As I just read through the lowest star reviews, it seems that everyone who isn’t white has had a bad experience here. I came here recently to get a new shirt and the customer experience was horrid. I called to complain about a shirt I was about to purchase but it was ruined because in the process of removing the security tag and a few threads were ripped.
I called and a woman named Kat.. answered. When I was clearly distressed and trying to explain to her what happened she kept asking me moronic questions such as “is this the right store? Are you calling the right number? Did you buy the shirt from this store?” It was so rude and condescending , she wasn’t even listening to me and hung up on me in the middle of me talking.
Even after I said “ yes this is the right store, the TJMax in Gillette, I’m still here”, she continued to ask if i had purchased there or had the wrong store. I’ve never had that experience with a TJMaxx it was disappointing. Hanging up on a customer who had a bad experience is not proper customer service either.
Key take away: Don’t shop here. If you do shop here regardless because it’s the only TJMax around..just be prepared for an older rude woman who is flat out mean and condescending. There’s plenty of other TJMax stores or other stores similar..seriously you’re better off giving your business...
Read more09/19/24- What a frustrating experience I had at this location. I came in to buy a few things and to exchange something I had bought. I didn’t have a receipt which I understand it can be challenging while returning something. I head to the register and Michael the cashier indeed stated that I needed a receipt to exchange the item. I told him I saw the exact same item still available and that I can go grab it, all I needed was a bigger size for my niece’s dress. I bought an 18M and I needed 24M, I went and grabbed an 18M that was still available at the store and showed him it’s the same item I bought I just want an exact exchange. No money difference just and “exact exchange”. He was happy I went to grab the item, I didn’t think there was going to be another problem. When I head back to the register he says I need an ID in order to do the exchange and he asked me if my OWALA thermo was mine and I wasn’t stealing it. At this point this isn’t about me not having a receipt, this is about something else. I didn’t get mad, I was actually sad that He judged me without knowing me but that’s society for you. I’m not going to continue to express how I felt because I can really take this up to corporate. Maybe I will. Thanks...
Read moreI rarely write a bad review - however, it’s not the first time I have a nasty experience at this TJ Maxx in Stirling NJ. I was just there 20 minutes ago with my young daughter, and I wanted to try two sweaters in the dressing room. I have NEVER been told I could not go in there with my daughter in the handicap/family room. It’s a Sunday, NO ONE else is in the dressing rooms, and the lady came behind me and YELLED “NO”... it’s for handicap people only. All this while she grabbed the handle THAT I WAS STILL HOLDING... and slammed the door SHUT. I was in complete disbelief. I’m not an unreasonable person. I could see if it was a busy Sunday evening (but it was not since it’s almost closing time), and I can even understand if there were people waiting on a waiting room... BUT IT WAS EMPTY! She literally slammed the door in my face and told me and my daughter I could not go in there. FYI.. I’m 5 months pregnant, so I could have argued that fact, but... why argue with a bitter old lady who is clearly guarding the big dressing room with her life! Last time I come to this mediocre store. Disgusting, they don’t even deserve the one star I’m...
