After a poor experience with a big box retailer when buying a new range, I decided to shop local and I was not disappointed. As long as Moseley's is in business, they have my business.
Back story: I ordered a range from Lowe's online. This was after waiting 30 minutes for their in-store sales rep to hand me his phone to read about the features of the range I wanted when I asked him a question (for real? I have access to Google, too). The range died 48 hours after delivery. I arranged an exchange, but Lowe's messed up my redelivery by rescheduling the haul away of the original for the day after the delivery of the new stove. Who can be off three days in a week for their 8a-8p delivery/pickup window? I had to contact customer service 4 times in all of this fiasco. They also charged out the rear for delivery, install, and haul away (see price comparison below).
In contrast, at Moseley's, Mark was very kind, friendly, and upfront about pricing and delivery. He was knowledgeable about the products he was selling (unlike the Lowe's rep) because he's been selling and servicing appliances for 50 years.
He also delivered, installed (except for the anti-tip), and provided the range cord FOR FREE the very next day. I think he said haul away was included, too, but I didn't need it by then. In comparison, Lowe's charged $29 for delivery, $39 for the range cord (if you want their "free" installation; PS, that cord probably costs them $5), and $50 for haul away.
Don't be fooled by the worn-down storefront and think that those shiny big box retailers can offer you a better experience. Mark handles his business old school; with respect, a handshake, and delivering on his promises. No hidden fees, no gotchas, and no warm bodies just taking up space on the sales floor.
Thank you, Mark, for one heck of a...
Read moreHad another company come out and gave me a ridiculous price to repair burned out vent hood lights. Said I had to replace the whole apparatus at a cost of 280. Also charged 185 to try and fix ice maker. Did not fix it just moved the bat in the ice maker a bit. Called Aaron and he picked up bulbs changed out at a cost of like 30 for the bulbs. Fixed my dishwasher. Everything sort of stopped working at once. Aaron is a nice guy, very helpful and fair and honest. What more could you want from anyone to fix anything. Highly recommend. Fixed my stuff and restored my faith...
Read moreWhen it was time to buy a new washer, I read reviews, checked prices, visited the big box stores, then went to check smaller local appliance stores to compare prices on the off chance I'd find a steal. Moseley's prices were exactly in line with the big box stores, but their customer service is what really hooked me. The salesman was able to go into great detail on the different features of the washers that I'd narrowed my search to. He laid out what features best fit my needs for the best value. I left feeling confident that I was getting exactly the...
