I took my daughter to treat her to a mani pedi for her birthday. Going by the 5 star reviews on Google, I was excited to find a new salon that is nearby. When I called to set up an appointment, my first impression was being told that if I wanted to schedule an appointment, I would need to make a deposit. I thought that was strange, but I told her that I would just come as a walk-in and a deposit was not necessary. Well, I should have taken that as an indicator of what to expect. When we walked in there, the place was empty. There were only 2 ladies working there, one of them working with 1 customer. I told the ladies that my daughter and I were there to receive a gel mani for my daughter and pedicures for both of us. Although there were 2 of us, one lady agreed to take care of us both because the other nail tech had an appointment coming in a few minutes. So, I agreed to having one person help us both. During that time, I noticed the other nail tech (who I later found out was the manager) was idling around picking up things to keep herself busy was letting me sit there with my feet dipping in the water as my daughter was getting taken care of. I asked the nail tech why the other lady was not helping and was told that she had an appointment at 3:00 and was waiting for her customer to arrive. At that time, it was 3:20 and I told them that she could have been helping me in the meantime. Her appointment did not arrive until after 3:30 and I made it clear to her that I was sitting there with my feet dipping in water and she could have taken care of my pedicure while waiting for her appointment to arrive. The manager was very defensive and not helpful. Furthermore, my daughter did not like the color of the nail polish that were on her toes. When we asked if we could change the color, we were told by the manager that they would have to charge me $8. I told her no way. I was very upset at that point and told the very nice nail tech who was helping my daughter to just do the pedis and that I we will not be doing the gel manicure here. During the service, I called another nail salon and made an appointment for a gel manicure for my daughter. Well, that was a first for me. I have never made an appointment with another nail salon in the middle of a service. At the end, since the one girl was so nice and agreed (against her manager) to take care of changing the nail polish for my daughter at no charge, we agreed to continue with the gel manicure. However, we are never going back and I cannot recommend this place to anyone. I don't understand...
Read moreI came here yesterday 06/03, because Luna nails and spa closed down for whatever reason. I came with high expectations because of the amount of positive reviews but left very disappointed. Both of the nail girls I worked with were very nice but I was extremely mislead/ lied to by the girl who actually did my nails. Or maybe she’s delulu. I will not be putting her name in the review. I asked her who did her nails she said she did them herself. Heading this, I assumed (maybe that’s my fault) she was a very experienced nail artist. She was also speaking very confidently about her skills. I showed her my inspo picture, we changed stuff to something she told me she wanted to try for a while now, she showed me a picture of the most beautiful, pink and gold flower nail art I think i personally have ever seen. I wish I had asked her for the photo because I have no “what I asked for vs what I got” to show here. Then when she starts on the flowers she tells another coworker “I’m still a nail noob” red flag #1, this coworker also tells her to try something new on my nails that she gives a weird look about and does it anyway, red flag #2. I immediately look at my nails after a few minutes and I am… disappointed. The flowers look like a child’s drawing, red flag #3. My nails have hairs in them, are full of bubbles, are already chipping despite it being 24 hours and one nail is too big so it’s on my skin. Not the worst experience I’ve had at a nail salon but this is second place… I would say my pedicure was good too but she was going so fast my skin felt numb and my toe nails are all cut crooked… no free feet pics though but here’s...
Read moreUpdate: I have been going here for a few months now and this is the best place. Both Joyce and Mi are amazing! Their work is awesome and they are so nice. It took me quite a while to find a high quality place at great prices. I'd easily pay double for the quality of work they do. I highly reccomend this place.
I had gotten my acrylic full set elsewhere and noticed that the place didn't clean their tools after each client. I was very upset so I decided to look for a new place. I came to Blue Sky nails for a fill and I was very critical of their process. It is important to me that cleaning practices are done. I was so happy to see that not only was there blue liquid everywhere but they had an autoclave going too! I watched carefully as every tool was cleaned after each client and before being placed back at the station. Clean practices are perfect. I then sat with Joyce to have my fill done. She was friendly and not overly chatty. She great at reading that I'm not a big talker and I'm good with some silence. However, she didn't completely ignore me and she paid careful attention to what I wanted done with my nails. She spoke and understands English very well so communicating the details of what I wanted done was very easy. The previous place I went to added all sorts of upcharges for every little thing. There was none of that here. She was direct and honest about the cost of things before doing them. Her work was good and I left very sastified! I will be returning bi-weekly for my fills. I am very happy with this place. It has a high end feel with more reasonable prices. It is the...
