I really hate to leave this review - in fact I rarely ever leave any unless I feel something needs to change. So please know that I only say this because I want the best for this business and I think it could be a lot better.
Iāve been coming here for over 7 months due to the proximity of the cafe, and each time I wonder why I come back. A majority of the staff are super standoffish and make me feel really uncomfortable : super awkward and donāt know how to respond when I say normal things like how are you.
Iāve had a very hard time trying to get a decent cappuccino or cortado from this place. Itās always very burnt tasting and the ratios are all over the place. I used to be a barista and Iām honestly astounded that there arenāt more bad reviews. A cappuccino shouldnāt burn your mouth at the first sip - the milk is always scalding hot and over steamed. I think they need some better training to learn how to get proper micro foam. Iām really not that fussy in most places but I canāt believe how terrible something as simple as a cappuccino is from a coffee shop. Iāve ordered one at least a dozen of times stupidly expecting it to get better.
Their sandwiches are usually good - but all of the pastries Iāve tried have been pretty mediocre/bad.
The only drink Iāve had a pretty consistently good experience with is a Matcha, but they over sweeten it so I ask for just a tiny bit of it.
The patio is beautiful and itās really lovely to sit out there.
Again I donāt want to leave this review to create a negative impact on this business, I only hope they take it seriously to better their service...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is one of my favorite coffee shops of all time, hands down. Whenever I'm in the area, I stop by this little coffee shop in the middle of Alhambra and sit in their gorgeous patio. Lots of sunlight, a fantastic fountain, and great ambiance!
The coffee itself is really good. It comes from the nearby Antigua coffee house, who the owner (Yanci) grows his own coffee from Guatemala (I think!). The cafe de olla is really good (orange and cinnamon brewed with the coffee!)
Also, check out their hidden menu. Ask for the Juan-two-three. You won't regret it if you like coconut water and caramel!
The people who hang out here are generally the artistic type, coming from Cal State LA. The owner sells some of their knick knacks in the front. There's also some classes and meetups at the shop too. If you're looking for a place to work, chill, or meet friends, I highly recommend checking...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI'm a regular here and live in the neighborhood. The owner Steve is like family to our neighborhood and is passionate about creating a space for the community to hold events like workshops, open mics, markets, and music showcases. There is a great variety of coffees and teas all freshly brewed and way more flavorful then any Starbucks or dunkin donuts. The staff are always friendly and engaging. The atmosphere is that sacred vibe with an outdoor patio and soothing fountain and art hanging on the walls from local artists. Occasionally you're greeted by the house cat or Scamp the pup who will chill on a couch with you if you're cool with it. Perfect space for reading, enjoying a quick bite or brainstorming your next life move. Support this local business and you'll enjoy the art, the coffee, and the...
