Fields Market — Local services in Los Angeles

So anyone that lives in west hills knows this place survives on the income it generates from Hollywood movies or videos that use it as a supermarket venue. So if by chance you see a large presence of camera crews you’ll know to avoid the store as they generally close while shooting.

CONS: Their prices are as high or higher than you’d expect to find at an convenience store. And they have a poor and minimal produce section so if your looking for some exotic fruit or vegetable don’t waste your time.

PROS: Always super clean and in order. Shelves are blocked with military precision. Staff are very nice and courteous. Classic Rock is played over the loud speakers ;-)

CONCLUSION: Doubtfull you’ll be using Fields Market for all your grocery needs, but instead as a convenience store so expect to pay high prices...

What I like about Fields is that it is never crowded. You might find 2-3 people in any one aisle if you're lucky. They carry all the major brands, have a meat section that is priced very nicely, and a bakery. I'm not exactly how they stay in business, but they do.

Decent selection of fresh produce but their ice cream selection and variety is really poor. They also carry some kosher products and fresh meat although that's not my thing. Plenty of parking at all times.

My only complaints are that there is usually only ONE checker so the line is quite long at times. Sometimes it takes longer to get through the checkout line than it did to shop for a couple of items! You can't swipe your own credit card and there's no bagger either, so it takes a bit longer to get through the entire...

This store has changed owners quite often over the years so many times that I forget the name of the store. These owners seem to be more interested in renting/leasing out the location to be used in movies and television. I dont have an issue with that. If they can make money doing that, well good for them. But...they are not able to match the prices of large stores like Ralphs or the cleanliness and large varietu of Pavilions and with a Super Vallarta opening soon I wont have any reason to make a trip there only to find they are closed...
