I had not been here for quite a few years. Most the exhibits and experiences have changed for the better. One exhibit that has not changed is the beautiful statue of the Savior, Jesus Christ, where you are welcome to sit and ponder or meditate about him. If there are not a lot of other visitors present it is a truly peaceful and powerful place to sit and ponder your personal relationship with him.
The missionaries are accommodating and informative without being pushy and are more interested in you having a good experience and feeling the peace and happiness of God's spirit, sharing things they believe without any expectations of you. You choose what you are interested in having them explain about about the temple, the visitor center or their beliefs.
There is an area that stresses family and why families are so important, a section that lets visitors see pictures of the inside of the adjacent temple which only members of the church can enter and describes the things that happen inside. There are great interactive booths for youth or one or two individuals that they can pursue various questions on their own. There is a beautiful small replica of the city of Jerusalem with the ancient temple made and carved from olive wood from tradesmen in or around Jerusalem. There are several videos that describe different aspects of their beliefs from their beliefs of how Christ's church with living prophets was restored to what the Book of Mormon is and its connection to the Bible which require no interaction on your part, or you can just ask them questions you are interested in.
One bonus that many people miss is the free FamilySearch genealogy or family history center that is totally independent from the visitors center and entered from the side of the building. Everything is free and there are great volunteers willing to help with your family history related questions, or with any of their free resources. It focuses on family history and not religion. The center is dedicated to doing genealogy/ family history research and preserving memories of your ancestors. They have many resources that most people are not aware of. Rapid photo scanners to make quick work of a stack of photos and other equipment for digitizing larger or more delicate photos, 35mm slides, 8mm and Super 8 videos, VHS videos or audio cassettes. They have numerous computers with free institutional access to premium genealogy databases including Ancestry, My Heritage, Newspaper Archives, all the digital databases, records and books that are found in the Salt Lake FamilySearch Center, and many more that would cost hundreds of dollars each for personal subscriptions. If you don't have a free account to save and store your family tree, they can help you set up a free account at FamilySearch to connect to their one world tree with all the family connections and research people from around the world are doing, or you can use the account strictly for research...

Read morePretty outside for sure. I was a devout member and believer of this expensive club/religion for 29 years. For the cost of 10% of your gross income you can enter this building. The first time anyone does an endowment session they ask themselves if they just joined a cult, but the emperor's clothing group think causes you to suppress those questions. But you can just Google what gotta on inside this building to see for yourself. It took me discovering all the lies and issues with the origin story to discover for myself that I didn't have the truth.
Once I no longer could drink the Kool-Aid, I wasn't welcome in their high end club. Questioners and skeptics are not welcome, say least the ones who won't keep their questions or critiques...
