DO NOT STAY HERE! Women's blue thong underwear covered in fecal matter was in box to store small toiletries, etc. The assistant GM Jackie Bastawroos could have cared a less. I was unaware that this infectious pair of underwear covered in fecal matter was in there until I began unpacking and organizing my small often used toiletries. Jackie had the audacity to say and I quote: "Well, you shouldn't have touched it or stick your fingers in there" First of all, Noone in thier right mind would do that, second of all, who would expect to find this in your room? The real issue at hand is that the thong underwear covered in fecal matter in the toiletries box (which I brought down to the front desk) should have never been there in the first place. Consistent with the reviews, the real issue at hand is: house keeping cuts corners and clearly did not do thier job. Jackie instead of taking accountability put blame on myself because I touched them unaware the fecal matter covered thong underwear was in the toiletry box. I've spent a small fortune of my own money on countless numbers of Febreeze air freshener to attempt to get rid of the smell that has lingered. Today, Jackie called claiming I arranged to check out on 21 March- I did no such thing nor had made any arrangements to check out on the 21st of March. Yet, she bullied and harassed me to no end and argued the point with me with nothing but hostility However due to the unhealthy conditions of my room and ongoing harassment from front desk staff, I had to make arrangements for other accommodations which are unfortunately for me not available until 23 March. I went down to the front desk yesterday evening to let them know I would be checking out on the 23rd. Jackie argued with me on that point and stated that I did no such thing. The real issue at hand here is front desk staff failing to do thier job efficiently and relaying incorrect information. Yet again, instead of accepting accountability Jackie literally harassed me on this point. Legal counsel has now advised me and that communication was sent down in writing via Valet and delivered. Much more to come. DO NOT STAY HERE! The ONLY way for things to change for the better is to change the management both the Assistant GM, Jackie and the worst bully of them all, Jackie's boss. Kimpton better be listening at the Corporate level if they don't want to loose millions in money because of management here clearly noted and expressed in countless other reviews. They are harassing me and trying to force me to pay through 28 March even though I must leave and check out on the 23rd because of health issues in my room, fire hazards pointed out in another comment, mysterious bug bites around the nose and mouth of one of my pets that were bleeding also pointed out in another comment. I have had legal counsel report everything to the Department of Health whom will further investigate. Safety will be present at my check out date on the 23rd to not be literally bullied and harassed and coerced to pay through 28 March as I had to make other accommodations due to everything especially unhealthy room conditions The assistant GM, Jackie and her boss just smirk with a Sarcastic, nasty grin when I brought up the other like comments smirking whilst saying: "Yes, we've seen them" Yet nothing changes which is why Kimpton Corporate should take heed making swift changes/termination of current management here at The Palomar on Wilshire Blvd as swift changes are desperately needed. In fact, The Palomar and Corporate just lost thousands of dollars in revenue. I'm here for LA FASHION WEEK having just wrapped the Oscar's. The coordinator was looking for a venue to include: PRESS, MEDIA, DESIGNERS, VENDORS, PHOTOGRAPHERS AND TOP MODELS. I gave a resounding NO to not use Palomar for ALL seasons of Fashion Week translating to Millions in PROFIT LOST thanks to MANAGEMENT here. Kimpton has trashed thier brand owning this The Palomar ~ NOTE: Response from management is not factual-Will address in detail in next f/u post/review

Read moreDo yourself a favor and don't stay here. I travel often and can't remember a hotel I disliked more than this one. First, let's tell it like it is, this hotel is NOT in Beverly Hills. It is also in a more residential neighborhood, not really walking distance to anything. I knew this prior to making our reservation. I chose it because it was closest to our son's apartment. We stayed 5 nights. The rooms are small, black/brown carpet. The hallways are dark and brown. Not very cheery or much of a modern vibe that they were, perhaps, going for. If you stood in the hallway or the room and didn't know it was a Kimpton, you would NEVER guess it was a Kimpton. I have stayed at Holiday Inn Express properties I would choose over this Kimpton. Our room was right next to a door marked "linen closet." It was opened and closed all day long. Each time it sounded like someone was coming into our room. It was loud and constant. When we had unpacked, my husband asked me if a used lip gloss was mine because he found it on the floor next to the bed. No. It wasn't. Our stay was just last week. August. It is hot in California in August. All the public areas were warm. Particularly, the lobby. The thermostat in the lobby was set to 77 AND THEY HAD A FIRE GOING IN THE LOBBY FIREPLACE. 👀 The restaurant and bar were only open after 4 on most nights, but not on Sunday evening. There is also a game room at the back area of the bar. Pool table, darts, skeeball and table shuffleboard. Sunday was our last night in California and after dinner we were going to go back to the hotel with our son to have some drinks and play some pool. Everything was closed. The game room was not accessible at any time other than bar/restaurant hours. Why? Lock your bar up and allow people to sit and play in the game room. So, instead we sat in the warm lobby to chat on our last night in town. There were bottled cocktails available for purchase at the front desk. When we asked about glasses and ice, we were given glasses and told that we would have to get our own and the nearest ice machine was on the 7th floor. lol To add to all that, they charge a ridiculous $47 a night for SELF PARKING, AND $26 a night "resort fee." As a Platinum tier guest, status was never acknowledged, but I did get a 12pm checkout when I requested it, although housekeeping was knocking at the door early to see if we were still there. Overall, it was awful. The only good thing was that the beds were comfortable and that Keurig coffee makers can be requested at the front desk. I would never, ever choose this hotel again. **This is a management problem, not a covid issue. We stayed 2 more nights at another hotel about 30 minutes away and it was a night and day difference (and cheaper). The general manager was greeting people in the lobby. The staff were smiling and gracious. The rooms were spotless, beautiful, welcoming. I did complete the online review they sent to me with all the points...
Read moreBeautiful hotel. My family of five, with three little kids got a suite to celebrate my son's birthday and Thanksgiving. I went out to the car to grab some things I had forgotten, we parked in the garage attached to the hotel. Well the second key I was issued didn't work. At this hotel, you need the key to enter the building from the garage. I had to locate a stairway and decide if I wanted to climb downstairs, walk outside and around the corner, in the dark, to enter from the front, OR walk up to the twelfth floor and chance their being another door I couldn't enter before actually getting to the room. I walked outside. Then I left to go to the store for water. Except I couldn't get out of the garage. We were told initially to scan the qr code on this card were we issued. We did that upon entering and it worked. I tried for about ten minutes scanning the same card over and over and couldn't get out. I called the hotel pressed 4 for valet, menu starts over. Pressed 4 for valet again, menu starts over. I hung up and retired qr code some more. Doesn't work. Called again, tried 4 again. Doesn't work. Tried the extension for operator, tell the desk girl I'm stuck in garage, she sends a valet guy over. He informed me I should've been issues a barcode tag that hangs on the mirror. We were issued two cards (1 that didn't work), and the qr code card inside a bifold card envelope. Nothing else. So after I ran to the store, I go back to the lobby again and explain all that, and I'm issued the hanging tag with the barcode. Other things I noticed watching another family check in: we weren't told about the pool, the gym, or the game room. Full transparency, we were told about breakfast, wine hour, and morning coffee. Then after dinner, we pull out the sofa sleeper for the kids. No sheets. No problem. Surely they're in the closet. Checked, no sheets. Call lobby again to tell them that we will need the full makeup for the sofa sleeper. This should've been obvious given the number of people in our suite. So we waited for a while and a nice lady came and brought sheets, blankets, and pillows and made the bed up. This hotel is beautiful but sub par and not worth the pricetag. We'll be here another night unfortunately. Happy Thanksgiving.
