Bought a knife block from Target as a birthday gift. Opened it after a trip and realized it wasn’t the brand on the box. It was a mishandled return with a rusty, used, and completely different knife set inside. We went to exchange it 17 days after purchase, which is well within Target’s 90-day return policy. The San Pedro store denied the return because of a price discrepancy…a discrepancy that was their mistake when they placed the returned item they never zeroed out back on the floor in the wrong price slot. We were sold a tampered product for the wrong price, then blamed for trying to return it.
Instead of fixing it immediately, like any company would do, we were passed between Guest Relations, Asset Protection, and store staff who all seemed confused and inconsistent. One employee told us to wait at Starbucks for a manager. Another insisted the decision was final. No one seemed to know what the actual policy was or how to handle it. We were made to feel like we were pulling some elaborate scam over a $99 exchange caused entirely by their own error.
After more than an hour of waiting and escalating through multiple departments, including Twitter and BBB, a manager named Kenneth finally processed the return. He was calm and professional, the only person who seemed to have a grasp on the situation. That said, he appeared to be wearing glasses equipped with a small embedded camera. Some kind of discreet recording device, from the looks of it. There was no explanation, no disclosure, and the whole thing felt quietly unsettling.
Even when someone finally did the right thing, there was still something off about how it all played out.
Target didn’t just mishandle a return. They failed at every level of customer care. If they pull out all the stops to make returning a $99 knife block this difficult, would you trust them with any major purchase? Probably not.
Unlike other major retailers who handle simple returns with no questions asked, Target’s response was a corporate shrug followed by “we’ll pass it along,” as if that counts...
Read moreYou cannot deny people the right to purchase food! Access to food is a basic human right!
At my recent trip to Target, the main purpose of my visit was to stock up on frozen food to replenish my freezer which is currently empty because it's been a few weeks since I went shopping due to current events. I wasn't shopping for any of the usual panic buy items like toilet paper, bottled water, cleaning supplies, etc. Prior to checkout, I was told by an insensitive cashier that I was not allowed to purchase more than two frozen food items.
It's an atrocity that frozen food is considered a panic buy item that has to be limited! The whole point of stocking up on food is to not have to make too many trips out in public, thus allowing social distancing and following the "Safer at Home" order!
Food is the one thing that doesn't last long if you're stuck at home! Food is not a panic buy item! Food is a necessity for survival! Not everyone has the access, means, or ability to cook and/or prepare dry and/or fresh food from scratch!
I'm sure I'm not the only single bachelor living in a small apartment who microwaves frozen prepared meals as their only option because our homes aren't equipped with stoves/ovens! Even people who own stoves or ovens may have had them break down, and frozen food is their only option for a somewhat nutritious meal until they get their appliances repaired, which is especially difficult right now due to social distancing!
It's not right for Target to disrupt people's lives like this! It's time for Target to take a closer look at their asinine store policies and make revisions that allow disadvantaged demographics to purchase the items they need to survive! Until Target updates their policies, they have lost a...
Read moreI always shop while waiting for a bulk med drop off / pick up. I'm in here quite frequently because of how many residents in the area have their meds come to this location. Out of all the stores this and one other tie for the worst employees.
After seeing me so often most employees are pleasant, will greet me, say hello ask me how i am doing, etc. This target is like being in the artic. Nothing pleasant ever happens.
I shouldn't shop while working but sometimes I have to get bandages, tylenol or body wash etc. While shopping I realize the same chinese guy and tall black man are tag team following me. This is during the day! Rubs up against me to pass me in an isle big enough for 3! Gross. Dont touch. I am not happy to say the least. You wouldnt do that to your mother dont do it to me.
So i continue to go down the isle right around where the pharmacy counter is, makeup, hair, toothpaste, hygiene isles...and he just keeps popping up. I go down another isle and i finally think he is gone 2 minutes later he is staring at me and looking in my basket. Then he dropped what looked like a camera usb but i couldnt tell what he was doing because I only turned after it hit the floor and he picked it up and scurried away. It was too close for comfort and felt like he wanted to slip whatever it was in my basket. I really dont know.
Thats not a shopping experience I dig. I like to think i dress nice, but casual for work, sometimes I have to help lift people so it isn't like I am in heels but damn being targeted at target while at work is not my cup of tea. Life is hard enough dodging creeps in parking lots and on the way home.
I'm going to try to get everyones meds transferreed to cvs on gaffey. I never have problems while waiting...
