Love this park. Easily accessible, there's usually plenty of parking on the curb and there are at least 2 entrances I know of (probably more). There's a big field for kids to run and play in, shade for parents and two excellent playgrounds as well as workout equipment and sand to play in. If I remember correctly, there are also picnic tables. Well-maintained.
You probably wouldn't want to run around in the sand barefoot (there seems to be bits of sticks and stuff that may hurt), plus there's a few ants around. Not tons, but noticeable enough, so I wouldn't let the kiddos run around barefoot.
