Fantastic Cafe — Restaurant in Los Angeles

Happy Diner down the street doesn’t treat people this way. I recommend going to them . I’ve always loved eating here. I must spend a few hundred a month on eating here with my family as there is 5 of us and we eat here a few times a week. Recently there has been a new lady working the window and taking orders I think her name is Horalia as the receipt says. She is beyond rude and always leaves me feeling like I don’t want to come back anymore. After explaining to my wife one night how I asked for something as simple as a little more crackers for the chicken salad we ordered, she rudely slammed the window shut and went and grabbed to whole handfuls of crackers to give me when I asked her what’s up with the tension and why it’s a problem I asked for crackers she told me don’t worry your fine and closed the window on me. I was fuming . I wanted to get out and go inside but instead I just left it at that and went about my night. I was thinking of writing a review then but decided to just let it go. I then send my wife today 9/21/23 to get a salad again and what do you know, The same thing happened again. She just asked for a few more crackers and she said oh I put them in the bag and closed the window on her and just left her sitting there and never came back to help her. This lady is rude as hell and acts like she owns the establishment. There is a younger girl who takes orders who we never have a problem with. But this older woman has a rude attitude and always seems to be bothered. I don’t get how you’ll let extra crackers get you to the point where you’ll literally be rude to the point customers don’t want to come here anymore. She needs to be put in a different position because working the window is a problem every time. Hopefully management takes it into consideration what we’re saying because I now found a new favorite spot which is right down the street called Happy Diner. Best food in town and definitely great service. Thanks to Horalia because of it wasn’t for her rude behavior towards me and my family I would’ve never found it since I like to eat at the same spot a lot. Once I find a good spot I stick to them. Great place, but my recent experience was disappointing. On November 23rd, 2024, I visited the restaurant around 9 p.m. and encountered a staff member at the register who was shockingly rude. She wore noticeable black makeup and those cat eye eyeliner, so she’s not hard to miss. I was simply trying to get clarification on a menu item I don’t typically order, and her response was condescending, patronizing, and completely uncalled for.

As someone who has worked in the restaurant industry, I understand how stressful the job can be, and I always make an effort to be polite and respectful to staff. I’ve been a loyal customer for nearly 10 years, frequently visiting during work breaks with other City of Los Angeles Sanitation Department employees, and I’ve always been treated kindly by the team here. This interaction, however, was unlike anything I’ve experienced before.

Her rude and behavior made me feel unwelcome. In fact, it was so out of line that I chose not to order and left the restaurant instead. While I don’t believe this individual represents the rest of the excellent staff, I strongly believe this should be addressed. Every customer deserves respect and dignity, and this behavior is unacceptable.

I’m hesitant to return to an establishment I’ve supported for years, but I hope this can be a teaching moment to ensure all customers feel valued and respected. Despite this incident, I still appreciate the quality service I’ve received here in the past, which is why I’m leaving a...

I'm so sad to write this because I've been coming here for as long as I could remember, as a child I'm the 90s. The food is usually consistent and decent. The prices lately have been creeping up. It is now way OVERPRICED for the quality of food your getting. 2 Junior baskets and small chilli fries is $35

Sadly today we had the worst customer service I've ever experienced here. I was craving the chilly cheese fries. Around 9:50pm I called and the phone rang and rang to voicemail. I called again as google said closing time was at 11pm. I heard the phone pick up then click. Someone hung up. This happened two more times. On the fourth call, someone finally rudely answered and took my order. Clearly she was irritated and wanted to go home on a Saturday night.

When we arrived to pick it up at 10:21, the door was locked. People were in the drive thru so we got in line and I called to let them know I was in the drive thru. The lady on the phone was rude once again.

Lady at the window was irritated when we told her we had a Togo order.
