I'm from out of town and have been trying to do business with this store over the past two years when I been coming to deal with family issues. I've had mixed to declining results and, with this last visit, I am done!
The customer service has always been weak and now I'm at the breaking point. Because I have limited time each visit, I try to email a list of what I'm looking for in advance. Management either doesn't check their email or simply don't care. Last week, I called twice and unfortunately got the same person who thoroughly discouraged emailing in favor of coming in because "it would be easier" and "they don't have time to look." Easier for whom? Certainly not the returning costomer.
Since they're close to the airport and I had time, I stopped in anyway on Fri. I spoke with who I believe to be the owner and he also wasn't too interested in making time to check books that he said he had in the back that were recently purchased. They were apparently getting ready for a sale the next day and possibly making a sale in the moment was clearly not that important. They made a copy of my list, took my name and number and said they would check. I made it clear that I was leaving Mon, today. As of 1:00, no call. So I called the store. The clerk who answered has no idea I'm talking about and was very dismissive, and the owner isn't there until tomorrow. They don't talk their employees anymore than their customers.
So, that's it. I've had it with them and won't be going back even if they had the hardest to find book on my list. One of the worst shops I've ever been to for customer service. Shame on me for having given them multiple chances...
Read moreAlright. So you have options to buy Funko Pops, the newest Comic Books, or the slickest Action Figures from your local GameStop, Walmart, or Target. But why? They have plenty of money and are often crowded, and have a terrible option for preorders. Why support "the man" for your hobbies, when you can support "a woman and a man" working their tails off to be different? Support a small business, because its right. The big box stores already lived their dreams and made their success stories. Pop's Comics is a warm and welcoming shop, with two fantastic owners and a very kind set of employees always willing to help out. A few big perks of Pop's Comics over the other stores out there: You can accrue points very rapidly to get free in store credits to get some free swag. You can always get the newest and greatest comics out, as well as be able to preorder or have a book ordered just for you. They offer bonuses and discounts for processing preorders, which no other shop would ever do. Why lose profit on an item not yet in stock? Because it keeps your clients happy and coming back for more. This one is astounding to me. If you are looking for something obscure or an exact comic, Shay [owner] can stop for 5 seconds, think, and know exactly where that book may be in the shop.
I've only been frequenting the shop throughout 2020 and I feel like family there. Shop local, support a small business, and help someone build their dream while helping yourself grow a great collection of...
Read morePop's is the definitive Comics and Collectibles shop in Louisville. Their staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging. While their selection of Funko Pop's is the best in the region, their selection of action figures and comics cannot be overlooked. They are without a doubt the best place to shop for Star Wars Black Series, Marvel Legends, and DC Comics Action Figures in the Louisville area. As for comics, I tune in every Wednesday to see what's new and what they recommend and their recommendations have been spot on. Most importantly for me though is the friendliness of the staff. I have four year old twins and comic shops can be hit or miss with their reaction to families, and Pops is a major hit. They treat my kids like family. They know what franchises they're into and are absolutely wonderful with them. Finally, they have an amazing rewards program where you can earn points towards gift certificates and it's absolutely free. Go check them out, shop local,...
