One of the best places in Louisville to get some old school smoked BBQ, and it is cash only. There's no sitting area which isn't a problem for me. We've been getting BBQ from him for years and never had any complaints. You get a good portion of meat for the price. My mom and I shared a extra large size of tips with BBQ sauce on the side, and still had leftovers. If you're a sauce person ask for the sauce on the side. It was under $20 and they fill the container up.

The tip pieces were meaty, smoked and seasoned nicely. You know it's good when people are willing to stand in line for it. But, get there early bc once they sell out they close up for the day. My suggestion would be to call in your order to bypass the long line, and see if they still have your food available, bc they do sell out often. The sides are pretty small, and wasn't really much to write home about, but the meat always...

As you can tell from all the five star reviews, this place is stellar. The wait can be long at times, but people are willing to wait for great food! I read the 1 star posting and it was unfortunate and I'm sure some type of misunderstanding because the young lady at the window is so sweet. I've supported Stevie J since his early days on the street corner of days on Broadway in 2009, and both he and his wife are both kind people. She appears more shy and he's more out going; I've never sensed rudeness in any way from either of them. As for the food, 5 Star all the way, the food and the lines are a witness to that. The portions are plentiful and the prices are reasonable, and in 2025 that's a novelty in itself. So, Sir, I encourage you to give them another try your taste buds...

This is only regarding customer service. I don’t live in the area but I try to come on Saturdays to support and grab a snack before I get on the highway. Yesterday the parking lot was filled. People standing around the window. The lady that came to the window never said they were closed. I walked closer to the window and she just slammed it instead of saying “ we are closed” or “we are out of food”. There was no conversation had I just walked away because a simple we are closed verses ignoring someone you can’t miss is very rude and...
