Echo Salon Creston — Local services in Lowell

I had my hair cut at this salon in March 2019, and it is June 2019 and I am still suffering the consequences of this terrible decision. I have always had a blunt cut, straight across - NO LAYERS. I just wanted a trim. I specifically articulated this to Hailey, the woman cutting my hair. She nodded and seemed to understand, but then she asked, “Can I ask why you don’t want layers?” I knew it was over then. I watched as she slowly started cutting my hair in small sections, but she continued to assure me that she wasn’t giving me layers. “I’m not a hairdresser, so what do I know!” I thought to myself. The nail in the coffin was when she asked it she could trim up my bangs. I DON’T HAVE BANGS. Well, I have them now. :( I left there while an entirely new hairstyle. I did not receive the trim I had requested. Instead, Hailey did what ever she wanted to my hair. I am still suffering and it will be ages before I have the hair I had before. I will never go back and I warn ANYONE to be wary before...

Worse haircut in my life. Spent 10 min describing my hair: widows peek, cowlick, curls badly when short. Explained that it needs to be as long as it was so that the weight holds it down. (about a foot long when I walked in). Suggested things that have worked for me in the past; shaving the sides, so that the length would flatten against my head, and not curl outwards, and trimming the back so that the back and front would be the same length, rather than the "mullet" look as the stylist called it. Completely abandoning every single thing I discussed with her, the stylist gave me a cheap standard short men's haircut that was everything I described as problematic with my hair, and had not a single aspect of what I suggested as workable solutions. After recently having a terrible experience at another salon, I was so nervous but eager to get my hair fixed. I was recommended to Echo salon in GR but knew the distance would make it hard to book apts with my schedule. I did dome research and found out there was a Lowell location as well- a bit closer to me. I found Alex and her social handles and just knew I could trust her to help me. She not only listened to what I wanted, she explained the entire process and made me feel welcomed, values and respected. i've been wearing buns and pony tails to hide my hair for six months- now i've had my hair down everyday.
