Petunia's Consignment Boutique — Local services in Lower Merion Township

I called Petunia’s to make an appointment to bring in 3 gowns, which were beautiful, immaculate, only worn once and jewelry. I met with Dawn. In the course of a half hour, she went back & forth at least 5 times saying she will take all my items, then she said she would take one gown due to the season and to bring back the other 2 gowns at a later date. She continued to say how beautiful the gowns were. It was so clear that she had no idea what she was doing, I never had an experience as bad as this. It even went to the point where she had me sign a consignment contract. After I signed the contract, she then changed her mind AGAIN saying now she cannot take my items. She was extremely unprofessional and it was clear she had no knowledge. I asked for the owner Donna. She said she was not available. After going through total craziness with Dawn, I took my items and left. As soon as I got in car, Dawn called me and said she was trying to do me a favor, like really?! Stopped in for my wife to do some shopping the other day. The owner was very nice and helpful. I had two children to chase around while my wife tried on clothing, shoes, purses... The owner had no issues with my one son asking to see everything up to and including a storage closet! She was more than happy to allow my son to check things out. My son even locked the dressing room doors and crawled out underneath the door - as I found out later - the owner took it in stride and laughed about it. She has another store in Skippack PA that is closer to my house. The owner actually brought a few items from the Ardmore store, personally, to the Skippack store for my wife. All around I would highly recommend. I am not one to do clothes shopping but I am happy with the experience myself and my kids had and my wife just loves...

Over the weekend, my husband and I were wandering around Suburban Square and decided to pop into this shop on a whim. I had to write a review because it was truly a delightful experience. I have recently become disgruntled with shopping for clothes, finding that quality has become so poor . This boutique is an absolute gem--I walked out with a gorgeous Scottish cashmere sweater, Italian wool jacket and high end jeans, all an amazing fit and highest quality. A couple of the brands were unfamiliar to me, so I looked them up online and was even more impressed when I learned more about these companies. The owner of the shop has a real eye for quality. I honestly can't remember the last time I had this much fun shopping...
