I want to give a shoutout to Armand Johnston at Govberg for the exemplary service he provided from my very first phone call with him. I have been in the market for a higher end watch, a Jaeger LeCoultre, and the AD's around me didn't provide much service, nor that much of a discount. I had the option of shopping duty free at some of the Caribbean stores to save money, but I never really felt comfortable dealing outside the states on a high end purchase.

Govberg was able to offer very competitive pricing and shipped my watch overnight!

But what makes Armand standout even more, is the watch I received wasn't keeping accurate time. This was NO fault of them. The watch was brand new still wrapped in plastic. Just an issue from the manufacturer. He facilitated an immediate return, sent me the label to be overnighted back to him, all free of charge. I decided on picking out a different Jaeger LeCoultre model and he was able to yet again provide very competitive pricing. I should be receiving this piece next week sometime.

I had a pretty disappointing encounter at this store a few months ago. After having found a really interesting timepiece on the 1916 site, I made a few inquiries and scheduled an on-site visit at the Ardmore store to see the watch in person. The salesperson who had assured me she would order the piece and have it ready for review was there as scheduled, but the watch had not been brought in. She then proceeded to offer to show me other pieces I wasn't interested in, and explained how they were superior to the one I had expressed interest in ... I felt simultaneous condescension and ignorance. She knew enough to be arrogant in some respects (pricepoints mostly), but had no understanding of movements, the various models currently being offered by the brand, etc ... I simmered on the inside for a bit and left soon thereafter. I'll not go back. I wonder if I had shown up in a suit, as opposed to jeans and sweats, if I would have received better service. There are a few high-end watch stores in the Philly region, and I have never had...

I wanted to thank and acknowledge Bryan Santangelo for the superior client service he provided to my son and me this past Saturday at Govberg Jewelers in Ardmore. In addition to removing some links from my son's watch and setting the time and date correctly, Bryan engaged my son in a comprehensive conversation about higher end watches and entertained every question my son asked. He went above and beyond in his service and was instrumental in creating a very positive experience for both of us. Having overseen service centers in the financial services industry, I'm very appreciative when I receive an elevated level of service, one that's befitting an establishment like Goveberg Jewelers. Bryan understood the importance of relationship building, which I know is critical in the luxury goods business. I can say that, without hesitation, we will come back to Govberg Jewelers when we're in the market for jewelry and, just as importantly, I know who we'll be asking...
