Overall this was a good experience. I bought the left and right end pieces of a Starbot Power Recliner sectional to make a love seat for my living room.
For comparison only, Ashley Furniture in Warminster had these pieces for $1799.98 which did include delivery and installation (they also had a 5% Military Discount - $90 off); for a delivered and installed price of $1709.98. Removal and disposal of my old love seat was not available at all. So, with PA tax added, total cost would have been $1812.58
Sweet Dreams sold me the exact same pieces for $1120 also with a 5% Military Discount of $56 for a price of $1064.00. However, Sweet Dreams then added $150.00 for delivery (paid to the store), $38.34 for using my credit card (3% - paid to the store - bring a check with you!), $100.00 cash to the driver for taking my old love seat to the curb plus another $100.00 cash for disposal at the dump (also paid to the driver). These cash payments were not tips. I was told about them by phone after I had already paid for the sectionals at the store. The delivery people did offer to unbox and set up the new love seat (which was not included) for an additional $75.00 cash which I declined. (It took me all of 15 minutes to set up the love seat. It would have been 10 minutes if I had had a helper). So, with PA tax added I paid $1316.18 for the loveseat; a savings of $496.40 (though I did have to put it together myself).
Apples to apples, while buying from Sweet Dreams had some frustrations at the nickel and dime add-ons, even with the removal and disposal costs, they save me $296.40 on the love seat and I did not have to deal with the old sofa.
A win ...
Oh, and as to delivery time, order placed on 23 Dec 2023 and delivered 9 Jan 2024 due to only having a left side in stock locally.
Repeat customer.. purchased a second love seat and very happy with the purchase experience...
Read moreUpdate: Dear all, As you can see in the comments, one of the owners is showing their lack of accountability by deflecting. Your former crook employee, Morris, did not put me or my husband in the system. Though, we do have a receipt which notes the furniture's estimate and the deposit which was put down to "freeze" the price. I'd be happy to upload it but I digress. Thank you for giving an example of your accountability.
Original post:
I wish I could give this place 0 stars. Do not be fooled by their promises. Do not waste your time. Please go elsewhere.
I went in, in May, and picked out a selection of furniture so that I could get an estimate. The man there (Mores?) told me that if I deposited $50 in cash, he could freeze the price of all of the furniture. He also assured me many times that if I were to change my mind, they would refund me my money. Fast forward to July, Mores no longer works there. Turns out he was pulling stuff under management's nose and making false claims and promises about prices and delivery. I could not get my $50 back because apparently, Mores pocketed my $50 deposit along with the deposit a of many other clients! Obviously the situation is annoying but what bothers me the most is that current management isn't showing accountability for the action of someone they hired. Their only solution was for me to $50 store credit. What the heck am I going to get for $50?! Their shotty hiring is not my fault so why should I have to suffer for their mistakes? shrugs You guys messed up.
So to everyone else: Go elsewhere. Best Buy Furniture offers the same stuff for about the same prices. They're also...
Read moreI saw Sweet Dreams on Facebook marketplace, and decided to give it a look on a Saturday. I've been dying for a nice big sectional since I found out I was moving to a bigger apartment. I popped in and was looking around at different sectionals and set my eyes on this LOVELY soft grey sectional that was everything I dreamed of. After taking a quick seat I knew that was the one. So immediately asked the associate for pricing and delivery fees. He was VERY nice and we discussed how the couch might be able to get into my apartment. He estimated the couch would be ready in May, but one phone call later that afternoon, and I was told it would be available for delivery on Monday! Monday rolls around and I get a text saying they'll be here anywhere from 11AM to 12PM, which was fine with me. Two guys came to my door within the timeframe all jokes and smiles, which was very nice and reassuring since I live alone with my cat. They were able to get the first piece in fine no problem, and the second with a bit of struggle, and decided that it would be faster for the third piece (and easier to avoid damages to my walls or the couch) to remove my door. I was fine with that, and it was quick to take off and put back on for them. Everything went butter smooth for the final piece after that!
They do have a 3% charge for use of debit or credit cards, but you can get around that with Cash App or Venmo, which I thought was a super cool way to be accommodating with your customers and get around lousy charges like that. My couch has an optional ottoman I might go back to get now that I have my actual couch in my living room, but only...
