Food King — Local services in Lubbock

When you walk into the store. It is like any other grocery store. I went through each aisle looking for my items.

I found everything that I needed, but the reason for the 3 stars was because of how dirty the egg section was and a couple of more sections in the store.

Seems like it wasn't cleaned for some time, and when you would pick something up, it was wet or moist. Which to me, it is never a good thing from any product that is consumed.

But I will say, I did get a lot of food for under $200 dollars which I was happy with. Also, the cashier was super fast and literally done with almost 30 items, within maybe 10 minutes. ( She deserves a raise)

I still would recommend this store for anybody who is on a budget and is looking for great priced items.

I still enjoyed my visit. The 10% fee is new, but I still felt I got more than I expected. Will continue...

Two months ago I came to Food King to get some oyster crackers for my 9 month old and noticed many items in the shelf were expired including the crackers I was planning to purchase. I took a picture and sent it to a friend saying wow half of what I see is expired. I went to the service desk and told them every single box was expired in February and the employee said, "yikes that's a health hazard we will take care of that right away." Two months later, today, I was on the way home and decided since it was close I would once again try food king. Surprise surprise, the exact same products with the exact same expiration date now almost 8 months ago were sitting on the shelf. If this company cared about its customers they wouldn't knowingly have expired food from February on their shelves. Check the expiration on everything...

ACE HARDWARE 19th & Frankford They are selling the display Christmas trees BUT the catch is- they DON'T supply the power cord that obviously came with the tree packaging. Does that make any sense at all?SURELY, THE TREES WERE PLUGGED IN TO DISPLAY ? The female employee just walked away and "Joe" got snippy saying, "Well, we can just throw them all away, if we want to." Then, the female employee points out that Joe is personally purchasing the ONLY tree that has a power cord. What kind of answer is that? Really? You want repeat customers but that attitude is not consistent with a professional business, ACE HARDWARE. I had been in 2 different times and purchased several Christmas yard decorative items.
