As a former Employee of The United Supermarkets Corporation, who worked at the Corporate office in Lubbock…. The United Family has always exceeded my expectations as a place of Employment, and for its overall energy and humanity. My father is still employed with United Supermarkets after 15 years of service, and at the age of 85. Working at United is literally the Highlight of his week, all the time. All that to just extend myself in gratitude to the Employees at Market Street on 98th & Quaker, for helping me this past Saturday, during my visit. My toddler son, had at some point lost his little stuffed Koala Bear, which he has carried with him since birth. We noticed it went missing, while our groceries were being placed in our car. I was with my teen son and my toddler, and the three of us went back to search the Supermarket for any signs of my little one’s stuffed buddy, and we could not find it, anywhere. We searched 4 times. Of course while my toddler was having a meltdown, I also was experiencing worry and anxiety, because I had no idea if we would ever find it again. I didn’t know how my son would be fully comforted, if he didn’t have his little stuffed buddy with him, anymore. So, I reported my concern to a young lady named Bayleigh, who expressed immediate concern for our situation, and quickly took down my name and phone number. She told me that she would notify staff, and call me, as soon as they find my sons stuffed koala. Low and behold, she must have rounded a search party, because, roughly about 20 minutes from when we left the driveway, she called me, and informed me that my son’s Buddy had been found. We couldn’t find it, after searching the entire store 4 times. But they did. I rushed back to the store, and a group of employees greeted me, including Kaden, the young man, who had been the one to find my son’s stuffed Koala. I know the situation seems like something small, and unimportant, but it truly makes a world of difference. Thank you so much, to everyone, who took their time to care, and do this for my son. Thank you Bayleigh for being a sweetheart, and being so responsive, and thank you to Kaden for being the hero of the day. I appreciate you all, and I appreciate the United Family, as a whole, for having us, and serving to our needs, for all these years. Thank you so very much,...
Read moreI have been a loyal customer of this Market Street since it opened 20 years ago. I love the selection of brands and customer service; I love that I can get something from Starbucks while shopping. On the whole, I love this store.
I'm writing this review because our family has recently grown and we're depending on curb-side delivery. I rather shop in-store but that's not a reality in this season of life. In the past two months, we've had 3 curb side orders with (many) missing items, rotten food or both. I understand that everyone has their off day, but this has become a pattern. Tonight, our family made it home with 1/3 of our order missing. We couldn't cook dinner, and so I went to the store and asked to speak to the curb-side manager. I presented the list of items we were missing to a manager named Elias, and he immediately began making excuses. This was such a juxtaposition from what I know of this store's staff and their dedication to service. He eventually apologized, after telling me they're the best performing store in the city and I'll regret it if I shop elsewhere. He also said if I ordered on a week day I'd have better luck (even though it's a Monday... so I am not sure he knows what day of the week it is..) Finally at the end, he gave an apology and said they'd "give" me the items they'd missed. I took this to mean we were getting those items comped. (We'd been charged for them and not received them). So I thought we were getting refunded. But when he brought them to the front of the store, he acted like he was doing us a huge favor by giving us food we'd already paid for.
The whole situation, and the fact this is how it was handled when I explained an ongoing and observed patten, are making me reconsider shopping here, or at least ever using their curb-side again. I wanted to give them feedback because if my team at work were making a mistake repeatedly, I'd want to know. I delivered this feedback in a calm and polite way. This manager's reaction showed a lack of humility and a lack of ability to learn...
Read moreI usually have an Excellent experience at the 50th and Indiana location, so I figured since in the neighborhood I'll pop on in and pick up a few things. Huge mistake... It seemed the prices were higher...Staff not as, or friendly...Then the Worst ....waiting in line to check out... I got in line waited... Waited... Baby screaming in the background... Waited... And low and behold... Price check on a popular chip brand. The cashier leaves the register. Comes back tells the customer she was right...BUT then the cashier had to call her manager over. She told her boss she had checked the price... Now remember each register was three people deep ... Management didn't care that paying customers were waiting... did the manager fix the problem with her super power manage code so the line could keep on moving....NO... She went to check the price herself. I thought, what? The cashier told her the situation... But the manager showed to the employee, her coworkers and all the shoppers that she did not have faith in her cashier... So I took my basket of about 200 in grocery's set them aside out of the way and left. I was not willing to wait on a Second Price Check of the same item... An item that was not input in the system correctly. Thank goodness the customer noticed the price was wrong ... How many other customers were over charged? Very disappointed... Upfront quality control and management training might make that store a better place ... BUT ME ... Not...
