Fantastic! I had fried catfish, wife had grilled. Both were fantastic…like I could lay down a legit argument that the grilled was better flavor….but then the tartar sauce was amazing too. I got red beans and rice, wife got cole slaw, we both got green beans-all were delicious! We ordered fried pickles. They threw in a few fried green tomatoes with the pickles and both were good. Portions huge. Prices not half bad. Service fantastic. This is the best fried catfish I’ve had in town and the only grilled catfish I’ve ever tried that I might order sometime on purpose. We were impressed. Wish I’d taken some pics before…but I didn’t. Suffice to say we both ate to our limit and we have 2 boxes to take home. Awesome first impression. Sam’s is a great addition to the Lubbock restaurant scene and I hope they stick around for a long time.

It is hard to beat a good, southern family dinner, yet incredibly difficult to find a restaurant that knows what they are doing enough to make it work. Sam’s has done it! While it feels like a local joint, this chain has taken southern classic food to the right level of delicious and homey! The fried fish was the best we have had in a very long time, the grilled fish was just as amazing, and the sides did not slouch either! We tried the green beans, coleslaw, red beans and rice, fried pickles, and were gifted a couple fried green tomatoes, too! Everything was exceptionally tasty, right down to the ranch and tartar sauces! My Mamaw was a fried fish connoisseur, and she would have absolutely LOVED Sam’s! We will be back, with the whole extended family and then some! Please, please, please, support this new eatery and bring your friends!

Hola! So it’s come to my knowledge that people have no been experiencing stomach problems after eating here. The food did have a good taste to it and the workers were so sweet. But let’s talk about it, I think the chicken and the fish are being cooked in the same oil. I had felt very nauseous after eating and I’m still in the building, afterwards I had the worst stomach pain ever. Not thinking it was the food, I start to think. And I say hmm, the chicken and the fish must be cooked in the same oil only thing that could come to mind is the cross contamination from bacteria of both chicken and fish. Please get this together, Long John’s never made me feel like that. Everybody in Facebook talking about the same feeling and for a second I thought maybe I’m tripping but indeed I wasn’t.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Legendary Flavor Explosion! Sam's Southern Eatery is a MUST-VISIT in Lubbock! Stop what you are doing—you absolutely HAVE to try Sam's Southern Eatery. This wasn't just a meal; it was a culinary experience that has ruined all other comfort food for me! I would give it ten stars if I could! First, let me talk about the service. The wait staff here is genuinely outstanding. Every single team member was so incredibly friendly and courteous, quick to smile, and happy to help with anything we needed. They truly make you feel like family, and it’s a wonderful dining atmosphere. Now, for the main event: the food. The flavor profile of literally everything we ordered was just sensational! But the item that stole the show was the shrimp. Oh. My. Goodness. They were huge—seriously big and plump—and perfectly cooked, making them undeniably juicy and exploding with flavor in every bite. The crispy, seasoned coating was the ideal complement to the sweet, tender seafood inside. We also had the chicken, which was moist, tender, and seasoned flawlessly. Even the sides, which often feel like an afterthought at other places, were on a completely different level. The french fries were perfectly golden and crisp, and the hot bread rolls were a simple, delightful pleasure. The dedication to incredible flavor shows in every single detail, from the massive main portions down to the heaping side dish. If you are looking for friendly service and flavor that will knock your socks off in Lubbock, you must run, not walk, to Sam's Southern Eatery. Trust me, your taste buds...

Sam’s Southern Eatery – Lubbock: A Welcome Taste of the South!

My wife and I had the pleasure of dining at Sam’s Southern Eatery in Lubbock during their opening week. As a bit of a foodie, I know that every new restaurant experiences a few growing pains, and I noticed a couple during our visit, mostly small things like getting the right order to the table. However, the staff handled everything with professionalism and a smile, quickly making things right.

Now, let’s talk about the food. The food was absolutely delicious! Sam’s delivers that good old-fashioned southern comfort I’ve been craving: crispy fried catfish, golden shrimp, and tender chicken strips, all cooked to perfection. Until now, I could only find this kind of southern flavor when traveling outside of West Texas, but not anymore!

Everything was hot, flavorful, and authentically seasoned. The portions were generous, and the prices very reasonable. We even had enough leftovers to enjoy another meal the next day.

In my opinion, Sam’s Southern Eatery in Lubbock is going to be hard to beat. Stop by, give them a try, and I’m confident you’ll agree that southern goodness has found a home right here in...
