Lyons Market IGA — Local services in Lubec

The Lyons Market IGA of Lubec, ME came highly recommended and with multiple routes. It was the beacon of light on this cloudy day that I was lead to believe it would be. The building was clean and the shelves well stocked. The staff was friendly but didn’t engage, which any independent or introverted shopper would appreciate! The selection was robust for a small town market, and the produce appeared fresh. While there were no scales that I could find, the pricing was fair and the attendant at the register seemed to understand what weight was appropriate for each item. It is also important to note that amongst their wide variety of products, a great selection of wines and liquors was available, a key ingredient to many meals and sanities on family trips. They also had a great collection of local products on their shelves, adding to their friendly atmosphere. Overall, I would highly recommend this lovely establishment and will likely return because I forgot something.

I absolutely love this grocery store. Being from a big city, I always love coming to these local, salt of the earth places with four different brands of refrigeration units and differing shelves. Nothing "big box" about it and I love it. Fresh, local-ish produce and good looking proteins. Frozen foods and all kinds of canned goods. Pasta, bread, you name it, they have it. Beer, wine, and liquor, too...and a decent selection of all three. They even have some tshirts and hats. Locals are all on a first name basis with the staff and lots of banter about life in Lubec was over heard while I was in there...and I wasn't treated any differently than they were. Amazing number of options for vegan items - I was shocked! Tofu, Follow Your Heart cheeses and mayo, veg burgers, hummus, kombucha, produce - I stocked up! Also greatly enjoyed the small town vibe.
