When I moved to this great community of Lynchburg over seven years ago, I discovered Lynchburg Grows a seven acre farm with several greenhouses, near my home. I have been a CSA (community supported agriculture) shareholder for most of those years plus they have a farm store that is open to the public on Thursdays from 9 to 1. Not only do they grow amazing produce, but support local churches and businesses, and a FreshRX prescription program that provides cooking and nutrition classes along with fresh produce from the farm to its participants. They operate a CSA which highlights their products as well as area farmers. They drive the Veggie Van into some of Lynchburg's food deserts to provide access to healthy and fresh food. They also maintain a variety of historical roses. Most importantly they provide jobs to people with disabilities.
