I believe this place to be a scam, If I could give negative stars I would.
Ended up coming here because of his hours, (My husband & I travel for a living, so his hours looked great for our busy schedules) But he is never in his office, took us over an hour just to drop it off (we should have just walked away from that) Picking it up was even more of a hassle, I'll talk about that later though.
Dropped off my computer in June, hoping to get it fixed. Took almost 5 months, and it still isn't fixed. Ended just picking it up this month. (November)
My screen unfortunately just stopped turning on, on my new lenovo laptop. They determined it was the ENTIRE motherboard, (if they even looked at it)
First off, the communication is just garbage. At first Alan got back to me within 2 weeks telling me the issue with my laptop, but that they couldn't find a motherboard to replace it. So every month I reached out to see if there was an update, still nothing. After 5 months of this I finally told him what's going on, how do you say you are a computer company if you can't find parts? It took me minutes to find one, and I told Alan if I could just order it and send it to him. Weirdly enough he said minutes later they also found one. After searcing for 5 months btw....(Same motherboard I found) I requested to know how he knew the entire motherboard was bad and not just a single component as he said they do PCB repair. He said it was an issue with the power on the board and the whole thing needs to be replaced. He tried to charge me literally more than the price I paid for the laptop. What an absolute joke, I told him I will just pick up the laptop unfixed. After I told him this, He BEGGED and told me that this is his job and his only income. He said to zelle him for the motherboard after I declined repairs. (Zelle, is a common app used by scamers) But then he sends me paragraphs saying how he dosent make any money from it and it it's for the price of the motherboard and labor. (please please don't waste your time or money coming here) I really believe it's just a scam.
Apparently if you have a new laptop, don't even bother coming here, because they "can't find the part because it's too new" (even though I found a motherboard within minutes of looking and it took them 5 months to find one. The entire thing was just strange.
A few days after I told Alan I didn't want to fix it - he told me (without even a 24hr notice) that we had to pick up the laptop today, I told him unfortunately that we couldn't because we weren't even in the state (he was aware we travel for a living) he told me if I didn't pick it up that day, it was going to be considered abandoned, and it was his. Even though they had it for almost 6 months with no urgency to fix it. Just an absolute joke, it's seriously unbelievable. I told him I would be home in 2 days to pick it up.
Just picking up my laptop was just awful. I told him what day and around a time I'd be there to pick it up. It was during his "normal business hours" it was like noon on a Friday and he was busy out of his office. So I texted him, he said he was at a dr. Appointment. Waited over 2hours at his office just trying to pick it up. He threatened me saying i had to pick it up, but yet he wasn't even there. (I think he just wanted to keep it) Also they don't even give you a diagnostic sheet, so who knows if it was actually the motherboard or not.
Please, DO NOT make the same mistake I did, do you're research and please go...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy daughter's laptop screen popped out. It was still under extended warranty from the store, but the store wanted to send it out for 3 weeks, and she needed it for college sooner, so we took it to Alan. The tech. was supposed to use epoxy to get the screen to stay in. The screen broke as he was doing that. We had to pay CASH for a replacement screen and labor. The screen was jammed in and doesn't lie flat, and the tech. covered the computer camera, which she needs. We paid over 1/2 the price of a new computer, without it being fixed properly and with additional damage. Alan is pleasant, but the work was shoddy. Update: WE HAD TO PAY Alan for a new screen, since the tech. broke the original one when he was epoxying it into the lid. When I picked up my daughter from college midweek and brought her to the shop to pick up the computer , Alan was over 20 minutes late. She SHOWED Alan that the corner was loose and that the screen was sticking out. She told him she thought she could use it anyway. After she got back to college, she realized the camera was covered, so she immediately contacted Alan, who told her they could try taking the screen out and correctly position it but it might break or SHE could buy a separate camera. We certainly didn't expect this business to not stand behind its work. Now I know why this shop has only 5 stars. Just found out Alan threatens people who've given negative reviews with lawsuits. I gave this place all sorts of recommendations before going there because I try to support small businesses, especially in Brookfield. Never going to be gullible enough to do that again. Alan's claim that we never went there is hilarious. Immediately after he saw this review, he sent my daughter a text threatening to contact his lawyer to sue us. Alan said they would epoxy in the screen initially, he called to say the screen broke, we had to pay for a replacement screen and labor, and now my daughter had to buy and use a USB camera, which doesn't work nearly very well, although she had a perfectly functional camera until Alan's One Stop Computer Repairs got their hands on her computer. He never even offered to pay for that, and he was going to stick us with another screen replacement if the tech. broke the replacement screen when adjusting it so the camera would be useable. Update: I figured out how to post the screenshot of the threat he sent my daughter right after I posted the review. He knows exactly what customers he screwed. I do not know if a new screen was even installed or if we were just charged more. We had to pay a lot more for a camera, since she can't use the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbout a year ago I bought online a low level MSI gaming laptop for my son. It was during a pre-holidays sale and it was super cheap. With 8 gigs of ram it was an update to what he had at the time but I knew I would eventually have to add more ram and space. I had seen some great reviews for Alanās One Stop Computer Repairs on another online platform so I went to their website and requested a quote. I received a call back shortly afterwards. He asked me to run scan on my sonās computer to see what could be expanded. At this point I should add that my son is autistic and while super bright and awesome, he can have very little patience and needs concrete times and specifications. Because of this, I decided I would get my own hardware rather than wait for Alan to order and receive it. We made an appointment soon afterwards and we were well on our way! We had some bumps in the road like silly me didnāt know that I needed to bring my sonās power source (I thought they were all universal) and although I got the 64 gigs of ram I wanted, I got the size for desktops not for laptops. This caused some delays which my son had a really difficult time with. Alan went WAY above and beyond. I work full time so getting to a computer supply place and then to Alan when he is at his store would be tough so Alan offered to buy the correct ram for me. Alanās team tried to do the procedure without the power source hopping the battery would hold up but when it didnāt, Alan and his wife (who reminds me of a swanky jazz singer) came and picked up the power cord from my house as I am not too far from his store. I have waited to do this review so that I could see how well the computer operates under the pressure of my son. So far, its excellent! Now, instead of hearing my son screaming from his room āMom!!! Its Lagging!!ā, now I hear āMom!!! Look at these graphics! Everything is so fast now!ā. So, if you have any computer issues or just want to upgrade, make an appointment and see Alan and his team! Also, the building they are in has a convenient parking lot on there is a delicious smelling restaurant on the corner open 24/7. A huge thank you to Alan, his team and his...
