I bought a new home in the Clift farm development- my house builder was Lennar. We have two little ones so having everything close was huge for us. The community is great but I think with every new neighborhood we have the typical issues of not having the builders/corporate HOAs give a hoot about the community. Until the HOA transfers over to the community it’s a lot of being ignored via emails unless you owe them money.
If you have a new build and you do the pre-walk through with tape, take it VERY serious. You can see how many houses they’re building in a short period, they will miss stuff. It took us four hours to do our walk through with blue tape, but it’s required for them to close to complete all those items.
Check your sprinklers and placement- we had them on our back property line and they moved them before we put our fence in.
We had a literal hole in our shower tile because the worker cut the hole for the knobs too large- they fixed it.
Lots of paint touch ups and look inside every cabinet. We had nails hanging out and screws.
Again, we love it but use your 1 year warranty to the max. We had no issues putting in a warranty claim and the builder warranty department coming out to fix it. I gave four stars because the HOA can do better and the builders/sale reps can communicate more effectively on what’s being built and when.
The community has been told there will be a park and a walking trail for probably 4 years. We have no plan updates. We have a pool that just opened but if your kids are still in diapers, good luck having anything walkable for them to be entertained like...
