Fired Up Pottery — Local services in Madison

I called early in the week to see if we could get a spot reserved for Saturday for either ceramics painting or to use the glass studio and the woman on the phone stated that they do not take reservations and that everything was based on the spots available when we come in. Completely understood and made the drive out on Saturday.

When we got there, the owner was in and asked what we were there for and as soon as I mentioned ceramics she wouldn't let us finish speaking before saying if we weren't on the wait list there wasn't a table available for painting and that I should have called earlier. I explained that I had called earlier and was told they don't hold tables and was cut off again and told it was on their website and to look there before coming in next time. (Her website does not mention same day wait list as of this review)

Ultimately, we just came to enjoy ourselves and would have been happy to do pottery, glass, ceramics, whatever was available, but left feeling talked down too. I don't know if she was having a bad day, but with the amount of positive reviews, I was surprised at how absolutely rude this woman was. I typically wouldn't bother writing a review, but this was such a bad first impression of what could have ended differently had the owner been a more patient and...

Great place for creative minds. The service from the younger staff member, sorry ,I didn't get her name was completely rude. When our party of 7 walked in we where met with a blank stare until we (the guests) asked what we should do and where we are going to be sitting. She didn't really know even though this party had been booked for a few weeks. She then left and the other staff member had to really pick up her slack. The rude staff member asked us if we where good because she needed to go eat. We weren't given proper supplies so the nicer staff member took her time to explain the brushes to be used. Or glass pieces to glue on as stained glass or picture frames. They 'Fire Up' your unique designs N call when done; could be one week. Then you pick it up. Tons of colors to create with. Good reasonable prices. Got a punch card as I want to go again N bring friends or grandchildren. Special room just for Birthday Parties.
