I went to this location to have some items printed. The level of service one I was helped was adequate. My experience waiting in line was poor at best. In short, I was literally ignored until it was my turn at the print counter. There were three employees at the front - one on the 'print side', one at a register, and one who was talking to the person at the register. Of these 3 people, no one acknowledged my prescience for nearly 20 minutes. At this point, I was frustrated. The employee at the register attempted to assist me with inquiries into what I needed - which was good. I waited for another 20 minutes before I was helped. For the next five minuses I was there, things were fine.
I forgot my USB drive and had to return a few days later. To be honest, I expected things to be different. It was not. I stood in line for another 25 minutes waiting to be helped. No one said hello or 'we'll be with you shortly'. I did attempt to ask for help as picking up my USB drive would take 30 seconds at best. I was interrupted and told to wait my turn. When it was finally my turn, and I explained what I came for, the employee said something to the effect of 'you should have said something'. I went on te explain that I had, in fact, tried, but they told me to wait. The employee then spent the next minute explaining how it was my fault. For clairity's sake, I'll tell you how I tried to get the employee's attention.
Made eye contact while the person was waiting on a machine, not actively doing a thing. Made a small wave with my hand. Said, "Excuse me," Waited for them to look at me again. Said "I'm just here to-" Was interrupted and told, 'You have to wait your turn'. Said "I understand, could-" Was interrupted with, "Sir, please, I'm helping other people."
Please bear in mind that the two employees not working the print center did nothing. They helped zero customers for the nearly half hour I waited. I then was told it was my fault. I have worked in retail. I understand the demands of working an area and needing to manage customers and work. The level of service here is atrocious. I'll never return. I'd rather pay twice as much...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe customer service at this location of Office Depot was horrid! I used to frequent it much more often when I had a home-based office. By that I mean several times a week. Now not nearly as often but needless to say I feel like I should expect the same type of service that I did then. But no not at all. It was not even one of your face, previously the staff that were there have been there for years and years but now they're all new faces... Let me correct that there weren't very many faces at all! I walked all around the store, in every aisle for about 10 minutes, I went up to the front to ask the guy at the register if there was anybody else working cuz I could not see anybody else other than some construction workers in the back and he said he would try to find someone for me but he was busy checking out customers. I actually got to the point where I was walking around, saying out loud, "does anybody work here?" because I needed some help. Normally in the past they had staff all around and asking you constantly if you need help with anything, I guess those days are gone. Finally a gentleman came to help me, he said he was helping out, he came from out of town store to help out. That was not okay. I don't know what's going on if they just really don't have enough help or what. But you need to do what you need to do to get employees to hire them and to make them want to come to work every day. We then finally asked someone walking by for help and they rudely told us we needed to wait. Waited for another 30 min before we found someone else to help us. They wanted us to wait for the 1 person there who knew about computers to ask questions about a computer we were looking at, but he was busy for over an hour helping someone else. We ended up buying a new computer(without his help because we were tired of waiting) and the tech services to set it up. We were told it could be done probably by tomorrow. I told them that wasn't necessary and I could pick it up 2-3 days later. I had to call them 6 times over the course of 4 days to find out anything! So frustrating!! I kept being told they would call me back. Never received 1 call back. Finally told them to forget it, I'll have it set up elsewhere and refund my money. The communication between employees is awful and their communication with customers is awful....
