Update: I visited the other location and had the cold brew and cappuccino. I also had the fudgy brownie. I also bought some chocolate truffles. The owner had suggested that their cappuccino is wet so I asked for a standard one with less milk and more foam. It tasted good. Please remember to ask for it specifically or else there will be more milk than foam in your cappuccino. The cold brew was actually had the slightly sour cacao nib flavour and wasn't vinegar like in the other location. The fudgy brownie was good (3.5/5) considering it was gluten free. The chocolate truffles are good (4/5). Thanks to the owner for the email and a gift card to try again. I did taste a sip of cold brew at the other location before ordering the whole thing.
Initial review:
Cute water cups and ambiance. Very bad coffee and not many "chocolates".
The cocoa nib cold brew must have been sitting, brewing and fermenting for months now. It was so sour that it was almost vinegar. VILE ABOMINATION! Could distill it and sell some coffee vinegar I suppose!?
The ice vanilla latte was true to its name and more. There was a lot of ice, lots of vanilla and all milk and sugar. Error 404, coffee not found. Diabeetus!
The only decent item was the "cappuccino" because it tasted like coffee but it was more of a latte. No milk foam found.
The friend who took us here suggested that the one on Monroe Street was somehow better. I really doubt it.
Anyway, if you want to get a lesson on "Destroying your taste buds 101" for a lot of money, you MUST go here! Hope this helps!
Tannins: plant secondary metabolites produced to deter herbivores from consuming the plants. It can cause digestive issues. Steeping and extraction are similar but different processes. Steeping for flavour in coffee should impart flavour and you should still be able to taste the coffee.
The difference between a short and wet cappuccino and a latte is just semantics.
A coffee drink listed under espresso should taste like espresso, at...
Ā Ā Ā Read moremy first time here :) the interior/atmosphere is great in here! if youāve ever watched trixie motel i get similar vibes inside. i love the amount of diverse seating there is (big groups, duos, singles), the use of wood for a clean/comfy vibe, and all the fun bright colors. the music great but louder than a regular cafe so if youāre looking for a really quiet spot bring headphones/whichever. the staff seem super sweet & love their regulars. i just had some tea, ham croissant, and a pumpkin cupcake. i will say all of their baked goods are all one price and are pretty expensive compared to other cafes. tried one of their chocolates and those are yummy too!
other notes: they have a drive thru have a large selection of other baked good other than chocolates windows inside that look into the kitchen for whenever they make their chocolates/sweets cool merch section there is another...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis has been my absolute favorite chocolate shop in Madison. The Odana road location has made it easier to stop by when Iām closer on the west side, especially with the drive thru! Their coffee is always top notch and I love the seasonal options! I typically go with the cocoa nib cold brew or a classic latte. I have never been dissatisfied once! The first time my husband went here, he said- these are the freshest, most delicious chocolates he has ever had. If I ever tell him I went to Madison chocolate company, he asks ādid you bring me back chocolatesā!! Iām not gluten intolerant but their pastries and food are absolutely delicious and most of the time we forget that they are all gluten free! If you havenāt stopped here yet, I would highly...
